Reading comments after an article about Walmart

new word
"firstable" when making a list of things...guess the next would be secondable????

Then I looked it up seems people make this mistake all the time...I never heard someone use it before...ebonics????

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Never heard that.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

first of all slurred?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

The say it's because the person is confusing "first of all"

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

I heard a reality TV star
say that her pet was chosen because it was 'the brunt' of the litter.

Thomaston, CT

Good grief!

Interested in how well the Smart car did in safety tests...will be doing more research to find results of actual crashes but this is the first one I found
Really amazes me that people actually drive them on the road...wonder what would happen if it ran into a deer?

...Lighter cars ALWAYS fare worse in crashes but they had tested it with only slightly larger cars also
http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/04/14/small-cars-rate-poorly-in-new-crash-tests/

How is it that in these results they fared really well a year earlier?
Hmmmm did they lie about how safe it was to get those initial sales?

Found the info I wanted....Death rates in minicars involved in multi-car crashes are nearly twice as high as those in large sedans, according to IIHS data

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No surprise there. But you would be content in knowing you helped the environment before dying.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Hahaha yeah BIG comfort!

Thomaston, CT

The gasoline tanker would never even know he ran over you & the car! I'd drive one around a place like The Villages, but not even here in my town.....

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Everytime I see the one around here, I'm expecting to see Bozo driving it

On Freecycle a guy said he needed firewood and said "in need of firewood for the winter, will trade my labor on just about anything thanks in advance"

I told Jim and we got thinking we would do it as he might be able to split some wood for us. I emailed him for his telephone number and the best time to call he emailed back "Im on a heart transplant list so home all day

Thanks
Kevin"

How can he do just about anything?!!!!!!!! Go figure this one!!!!

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

maybe he is the donor!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Wow....hmmmmm don't know if I'd want him to do any strenuous work

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow! That is almost comical.

I think its scary as he aint on the same page. Maybe he just want to scope someone place out. Then again if he has a heart problem and ran into me on my property taking something he just messed with the wrong person and would possibly drop dead.

Thomaston, CT

If he truly is on a transplant list, he'll be on oxygen 24/7, & totally disabled....

Just got bit by a skeet or what ever. Side of face on fire. I think it hit me 7 times. Not normally affected by a skeet.
c must b old age?

Thomaston, CT

More toxin in the bites....I was bitten by something yesterday....felt like my back was on fire!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

sounds like a spider Robin

Sherrie, I think they know their time is short...my daughter got bit in a circle on her leg about 6X

Thomaston, CT

This is my 3rd weird bite in a month...

I can live without those suckers.

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

No internet / wi fi. Call the company....wait ..wait...wait.... and many invites to 'go to the website for all my needs....' Got the gal "Venus" (that was no venus on the phone...) anyway...

45 minutes and lots of plugging and unplugging late..... "Its your modem...we will have to mail you another....but since it is our equip... no charge...." "BUT we have to ship standard - so a few days." OK....few days goes by...... Modem comes...... doesn't work....

I call back...."We'll send "The Guy" out" ..... The guy calls on the appt day.... he is 'at the box on the road...it is a box probem." Fixed! (Yea!) So come on down the road and hook up the modem.... "No - use the old one" ......................................

I insist.... he comes and hooks it up.....

Internet working... "thanks ...bye" now router not working.....hmmmmmmm

Threaten them you will change service. They will be there.

Thomaston, CT

My sister had the same problem, Rosie, but with her TV...they mailed a part, didn't work...problem was at the pole!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Oh geez

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

Called the Router people........wait wait wait...... try to follow directions and fix.
'nope it is a defective router' 'got to go buy another - WE ARE SO SORRY'

OK..........back to Best Buys....late at night...then stop to eat something on road...back at house....... Hook up NEW router.....won't work....same exact problem/behaviors......... what's the chance BOTH DEFECTIVE AND IN THE SAME WAY???

Call the router folks back.......'Maybe it is the modem....."
I keep thinking of that commercial ....where the girl trying to get her phone fixed keeps getting "peggy"

I do ebay for money and I would be so angry they would not want to deal with me.

Call and when you get the person ask for their manager or the next higher up.

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

It isn't that I can't get the people....it is that the people don't seem to have the resources, ability, savvy, training (???? not sure what the problem is) to fix OVER THE PHONE and it is the techs that they try to avoid sending out. I am not computer 'stupid' but hopefully a few levels up from there. I can follow directions but can only follow the directions I am given. Why sell a router that won't load properly? I wasn't the only one on the return line with a router in their hand!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

How is this for unbelievable? Was driving behind a guy the other day who was on oxygen and was smoking!

Thomaston, CT

EEEK! What a recipe for disaster.....hope he wasn't going through a tunnel.....

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

very scary!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

oh my gosh!!!!!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yeah - I wanted to get FAR away from him.

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

I had a patient with throat cancer - had vocal cords removed and a hole in his throat that he was forced to breathe through.... ...he held his cigarette up to it so that he could smoke.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow, you win.

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

I never cease to be amazed!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Why is there an easy pour spout on a salt container but not on a pepper one?
