Calla Lily question

Tamaroa, IL(Zone 6a)

My callas are blooming but I still have a lot of leaves that haven't opened yet. My question is..if I cut off the open blooms will it help the other leaves to unfurl and possibly produce more flowers?

Thanks!

You could cut off the flowers after they are spent and see what happens.

I have a number of callas that I grow in pots on my deck in the Summer. I do not cut any of the flowers after they fade and some of my callas keep flowering all Summer, whereas some of my callas seem to take a while to flower again.

I know this does not really answer your question, however the point that I am making is that I don't do anything special with mine and I have flowers all Summer.

The one you have pictured appears to be Crystal Blush and my CB is quite prolific. It seems it is more my yellows that take some time to flower again. I hope this helps.

Cutting off the open blooms won't guarantee more flowers. The older and more established the clumps get, the more blooms you'll have. As the plants increase in size (over time) the more flowers they'll produce.

Thank you for your replies. This is really my first season for callas as I recieved them for Mother's Day last year and they were already in bloom.
