Hello,
Has anyone ever heard of this? I came across it a few days ago from a company called Direct Gardening. I read their reviews online and I don't feel comfortable ordering from them. So I decided to do look up "weeping rose tree" and the only place that keeps popping up is Direct Gardening!
Does a Weeping Rose Tree even exist? If it does, can anyone help me find one from a reputable company?
Thanks!

Weeping Rose Tree?
They do have tree roses
http://www.davidaustinroses.com/american/Advanced.asp?PageId=1932
I checked out the site. It's just a groundcover rose grafted onto an upright rose standard. Any time you lift a groundcover off of the ground, it would "weep" wouldn't it? I'm not sure about the trustworthiness of this company, but the plant could certainly exist.
I ordered one and paid $36 something for it half price from one of my catalogs last month. I just planted it, then Went to Costco yesterday and they had them for $14.97!!!. The mail order one is a Dark Red and the other form costco is a Yellow a Yellow. I will see how they do. I am excited. I have it planted alone, as a specimen in the center of my yard. I have never see one before.
they have them in the Jackson perkins catalogue. yeah, they are grafted ground cover roses. beautiful though.
Our nursery charged $34.99 for 24" tall root stocks and $49.99 for 36" tall root stocks so it sounds like you got a good deal and a great deal on your two plants.
yeah wow, i wish we had a costco here.
Correction my rose tree I purchased at Costsco ,is a Rose Tree Like the one in the link above..It not the WEEPING one. So I have one of each.
The weeping one i has starting to turn green.
I will see how they do and hopefully post some pictures of them both.
Katrun, which Catalog did you order it from? I'm still on the search!
Jackson and Perkins sold out and I saw one on QVC from Cottage Farms, but there's a 45 day waiting list (which I'm on and still waiting...)
House Of Wesley- On the front cover. $34.95 each or 2 for $67.90 Pink & Red.
wow! i can't believe jackson and perkins sold out! they really are beautiful. keep looking at local stores and nurserys though. more roses will be out before fall so there's still time!
I went to a Nursery and saw something that looked like the weeping rose tree, but most of the roses were brown and shriveled up. Is that normal? Would it revive? But it was $150 for the tree. Not sure if that's a deal or not, LOL.
Katrun, I actually saw the Weeping Rose Tree there first and that's when I fell in love with it, but I checked the reviews and they were horrible. I'm just afraid of ordering something online and then it arrives broken or dead and they won't issue a refund. (that was the major complaint when I looked them up.)
I really liked the one Jacksn and Perkins has... If I don't get it from QVC or the Nursery, I will just wait till Next Year... thanks!
Well I will try and post the pictures ..Its still early yet, but the one from Costco is still coming out of dormancy..No signs of life yet!
The weeping is green. I hope they do well. I will get pictures because I looked up the tree rose prior to purchase to see what it looked liked.
For $34 dollars I figured I will give it a try. I think I will have to wrap it over the winter too.
I am getting ahead of my self! Hopefully it will grow and bloom.
I saw some today at lowes from knock out and you know, I'll be honest, as pretty as they seemed it was windy and even with the supports they seemed a little unstable. It definitely didn't seem like it would hold up to the winds up here on the mountain. :( i think if i try one of these I'd stake it like a tree for the first few years....providing it made it. But they sure are beautiful.
Anyway, check lowes, they were only $34
Thanks Outlaw... going to Lowes tomorrow.
Both rose are staked, (they came it with one). There is still no signs of life on the one I purchased from Costco. However the weeping is green and has leaves. I bet in less than a month I should have some blooms.
Awesome. Be sure to post some pictures if you can!
Katrun, post pics when they bloom please!
This past week, I finally got a call from QVC saying the Rose Trees came in and they will be shipping it out. After being on a waiting list for 45 business days, I can't wait to plant it and watch it bloom! I did go to Lowes and saw their rose trees, they only had 3 left and they didn't look so healthy. I will try back this week to see if they got their new shipment in.
I do have 3 hybrids teas and one grandiflora plant in the backyard, none of my hybrid teas bloomed (lots of foliage though) and my grandiflora is budding! I'm like a rose junkie, lol... I see all my neighbors and their beautiful blooms and I can't wait for mine.
Lowes is useless when it comes to taking care of plants. Do you guys not have any independent garden centers near you? You poor dears! Oh what a wonderful world you are missing!
That's why I love the clearance. At Lowes. They do a great job at 1/2 killing perennials and marking them half off so I can adopt them and nurse them back to health
Well my tree rose from costco is Dead and growing from the Bottom. THey whole trunk is brown! Figures they are as bad as Lowes.
THey never water the plants.
I will post pic.
And Lowe's is famous for mislabeling plants too. I'm with you Outlaw...more plants for your money AND you don't have to pay shipping! Hah!
