I live in Zone 8b.
I recently purchased some Dave Wilson pluots from a local Phoenix, Arizona nursery in #5 containers. I think they're on citation rootstock and they've already leafed out. I plan on leaving them in pots for the next few years.
Can I get away with repotting them out to 15 gal containers or should I leave them in the #5s and consider repotting them in the winter (like next February)? Temperatures are starting to move into the 80s here.
Also, any suggestions on a good potting mix for container stone fruit out here? I've been told half palm/cactus and half potting soil will work.
Thanks.
