We needed a new thread. Other one was getting really long. Share you gardening projects. We came from here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1162601/
I did some work on this garden over the weekend. I put in 3 of my new perennials, plus the johnny jump-ups. I also took the three hostas that were in there and divided them in half. Or rather two of them I divided. Will be adding more stuff soon.

Garden Projects 2011 #3
Men were comming this AM to redo the stone path in the woodswalk garden. Its raining today so ,next week.
Yes, raining here, too. Glad it's a work day for me.
Karen
Weeze a Jersey girl calling out MA guy on r's? :)
Karen, that area looks very nice....Jo, hope the walk turns out well. I'd love to rake the road gardens out since I have the truck today, but everything is soggy....
Guys postponed a week. Cant spade clay in the rain.
Only those in North Jersey have an accent
sure.............
Lol....
My father is from South Orange, NJ and does not have an accent. Strange....
Karen
How long has he been out of NJ?
Oh, a long time, but I don't remember him ever having an accent.
BTW, thanks, Marilyn.
Karen
South Orange could be considered central Jersey. I think a lot of people think a Staten Island accent is NJ. Or that the Sopranos or Jersey Shore (the show) is representative of the NJ dialect. I don't think anyone on Jersey Shore is actually from the Jersey Shore.
Yeah they def have more of a Staten Island accent
Cannot believe anyone can watch that crap.
I know!
Between Sopranos and that, Italians are made to look like idiots and criminals.
Really?
I watched a couple of episodes of the Kardashians while snowbound this past winter. Stupor inducing is the most kind description I can come up with. I don't understand people's fascination with that type of programming.
Me neither, except that they're flashing lots of flesh.
I don't watch TV so until recently I had never seen Lady Gaga or Kim Kardashian. I had to Google images to find them.
Lucky you, Pirl!
Sorry to change the subject but there is another project comming up here.
DD wants to change the sillowet for the front from the River Birch to where the sidewalk takes a turn to the porch.
She is in the process of cutting down the weeping cherry. Its a laughing stock. I was considering Low JM's ,birdsnest spruce
Heres the photo
Oh the hammock frame will go to the back deck,if I have anything to do with it.

lot's of things you can do there joann - what kind of sun does it get?
The River Birch shades it until afternoon when the sun swings south then its full sun. I really want more JM's but think something low as there is a sidewalk between the new contours and the House with Box wood hedge.
DD and SIL are going to redo the walk. The cherry tree roots have upended some od the blue stone.
Shame you have to cut down the cherry
joann - there are some nice dwarf jm's you should go to davidsans maples site, he has a section for dwafts and find something that would take some sun - you could fit a few in there. or head down the street to your local place i am sure they could help you.
Thanks I did save Davidsans .This is a year long project.
Billspeak lesson number three: 'dwaft' = dwarf graft. Please join us tomorrow for another lesson. ^_^
any one have images of dwarf low spreading Jap Maps?
those would be dissectums although there is one japonicum that is low growing called green cascade - will be new to me this week!!
try billtype mr v. :)
A weeping JM would look lovely there, Jo, one with purple leaves!
I have a friend from Jersey. Not sure what part, but she definitely has the accent. Says "turlet" for toilet and has a funny way of saying towel. She loves Jersey Shore. Never watched it myself, nor was I ever interested in watching it. Saw a CSI: Miami episode once where they had a fictitious reality show along those lines, and it showed how 'unreal' it really was.
That will look great, Jo. Think of all the wonderful possibilities. All that new garden space! Woohoo! I could not tell that was a weeping cherry. Did not look weeping to me.
Victor! Stop being mean to Bill! Am I going to have to separate you two?
Karen
Turlet? really?
I spent 2 1/2 hours weeding the front lawn. Why don't men listen? I told him to overseed the lawn in the fall and that way he could fertilize in the spring...but NO....he didn't fertilize or overseed in the fall and decides to overseed last week...have a TON of weeds growing, no sign of any new grass yet...and can't spray for weeds cause it will kill the grass that will hopefully grow
Oh, bummer, Jen. I hope you will get new grass growing soon. Did you get a lot of rain there on Wed?
Karen
ge1836 Jo - may I add pieris, mountain laurel, rhodies, azaleas to your "think about" list.
Yes you may.DD#3 bought a nice one at HD .Red Japanese.Pieris and we have Azalias
My son says the best time to grow grass is in Sept. However, the plow guy rips up all the grass by the driveway every winter, so I have to replant in Spring.....there are a lot of weeds.....
I have that problem too Robin. My plow guy got our golden chain tree. DW bought another one and has replanted. I'm going to try and graft the remains of the old one (only a year old).
Oh, no! Hope he paid for it....
