Erysimum is famous for falling over when it gets top-heavy. I was thinking of trying to plant it deep enough so that the branches of the basal stem are buried a couple of inches below ground to see if they will root and make a sturdier plant. Has anyone tried this or does anyone have another idea?

Do you shear your plant back after flowering? Do you deadhead old blooms? That seems to be the recommended action for keeping the plant upright and blooming.
