I do a lot of gardening with veggies but this is my 1st year trying out a couple of
fruit trees. I ordered a peach and cherry online, both came very healthy with nice roots.
In my rush to get them in the ground before heading out of town the same day, I didn't soak
the roots for a few hours before planting.
They got a good watering and we had 2 days of rain after that, I just want to know
if I did any damage by not soaking them. They were planted on Wednesday and I'm home
on Saturday. Three days in the ground. Is there anything I can do? Should I be worried?
Thanks,
Lou
Bare-root trees
Well the people at stark bros were very nice, said that because of the amount of rain the
trees received, it wouldn't be a problem. Even stood by their one year guarantee if there
was a problem.
Again, just wondering if there is anything else I can do. Also, what do I look for to see
if the trees are healthy or not doing so well.
I have 2 photos, 1st one the peach,
Thanks again,
Lou
Very neat set-up there. I wouldn't be worried about what you have done. You will know soon enough if there is permenant damage, but I would doubt it. I have done far worse. In fact, I ordered......25 fruit trees this year and only lost one - a honeyberry due to the fact that i forgot about it and it stayed packaged 10 days. And none of the others got out of there packaging within 2 days.
Thanks, makes me feel better!
How soon will it take to know if i did any permenant damage?
