They have been under the lights for about 3 weeks now and are just starting to barley grow thier true leaves. Off to a slow start for sure. The cotelydon leaves are turning yellowish but the stems are a nice purplish color. They are definalty smaller than any other heirloom tomatoes I am growing (about 2" tall so far). I water when the top of the soil is looking dry, so I dont think I am overwatering.
Do I need to fertilize? Should I pot up and bury the stem and then fertilize? The true leaves arent quite developed yet. help!
Yellow Brandywine cotelydon leaves are turning yellowish
The cotelydons are temporary leaves until the tomatoes get their true leaves. There's nothing to worry about :)
Don't get all excited and pull them off they are helping feed the plant.I generally just take them off when up potting up and then bury deeper. But then sometimes I just bury them.Ernie
