I have a huge plant that only has leaves . It is supposed to be broccoli, but it looks like Collard greens. Can these broccoli leaves be cooked & eaten in case that they are not collard greens.
Broccoli Leaves
Yes! and they could be collards - either way the leaves are edible - they are in the same family.
I once had a cauliflower plant that I mistook for a collard plant because the cauliflower took so long to develop and that was my 1st attempt at growing cauliflower. I harvested a bunch of big, broad, cauliflower leaves (thinking they were collards) and cooked them in a crock pot for several hours with bacon and onions. They were good!
I thought about eating the broccoli leaves, too, once I realized what happened so this is good to know.
