Anything I should know about using a Topsy Turvey strawberry planter?
Thank you.
Strawberry Planters
They will require a lot of water and food. Both a bit of a waste of money in my opinion, espceially the topsy turvy kind. Use proper boxes/planters if space is limited. Use light slightly acidic soil.
I got the big strawberry planters for $1 each when a store couldn't sell them and the manager just wanted them out of the store... and a friend had good luck with the Topsy Turveys, so I got them when they were on sale out-of-season.
Since this is what I have, are there any dos and don'ts for using them?
Thank you.
This biggest do is to water them a lot. This kind of planter tends to have water retention problems. Since they are in these planters nutrients will also be lost quite quickly so some kind of fertilzer is neccessary, try ammonium sulphate which will develop roots ( neccesary for these planters) and it will acidify the soil. I hope this helps.
