From Buds to Flowers, Let's see Yours

My son used to watch Miss Louise so she never called my name - LOL.

Duluth, GA(Zone 7b)

Lily_love my thoughts and prayers are with you guys in Alabama tonight as this crazy weather blows through the southeast. Be safe, it's now my time to hunker down. May have to go to the basement soon. Everyone be safe. Annette

I was in a burb of Minneapolis. Kindergarten was the only grade I attended in Minnesota.

Louise - Ironic, so was I.....^_^ We lived in Roseville and kindergarten was the only grade I attended in Minnesota as well!

The morning news had terrible stories about Alabama and all the death and destruction so my thoughts are with you, Kim, and we all wish you well.

Oh Arlene, it was one of the worst storm in our history! So many fatalities and damage for our State! Many are coping with the aftermath as we 'type'. Thank you for your concern. Our family were very blessed. Annette, I understood the storm was headed to Georgia. How are you doing? Thought and prayers continued. Thanks all.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

With every news broadcast the number of deaths increase. It's so sad. We all hope Annette is doing fine. Please post and let us know you're okay, Annette.

Duluth, GA(Zone 7b)

Good evening everyone, we sustained no damages from the storms last night. Except for debris from the trees, the garden and house fared well. My prayers go out for those in AL and GA who lost their lives, homes and loved ones continues. Lily_love, I'm glad that you are okay, and thanks to everyone for keeping us in your thoughts as the southeast suffered through a devastating storm. Annette

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Thanks for posting, Annette, and we're so relieved to know you're fine. We just had rain up here - no major damage other than some areas in New Jersey with downed trees and limbs that cut off power.

The devastation the storm wreaked on the south is heartbreaking.

Louisville, KY

What a terrible tragedy. A terrible terrible tragedy. For whatever its worth... we just had a double rainbow here. Let's hope this is the end of all this.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

I hope your rainbow is a sign of good things to come! I'm also very relieved to hear that all our clem friends are safe and unharmed.

Athens, PA

So happy to hear everyone is alright!

This is the first bloom this year from seeds started 4 years ago

Very nice. It almost seems to have a faint edging in lavendar. Did it take the entire 4 years to go from seed to flower?

1st Bloom of passi. edulis in the garden. Hi everyone.

It had small blooms last year that were a deeper lavender than this year. It indeed has a faint blush of lavender to it this year. It reminds me a bit of Claire de Lune. I have another one of the seedlings blooming now for the first time which is a faint pink and small.

Duluth, GA(Zone 7b)

Hey Lily_love, I have bloom envy for your passiflora. I just planted 2 Blue Sky in the past 2 weeks, and I hope that I ge a few blooms this year. Do you take in your passiflora vine in the winter, or leave it outside? Here's my clematis Crystal Fountain that continues to put on a show in it's second spring. It just keeps putting on these big healthy blooms.

Annett (right?) I love those Crystal Fountain clem. That passi is actually hardy in my zone. I've two of them. A larger vine got waterlogged on our early spring flood which was submerged in water for days. This one was on higher ground and did just fine.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I'm going to show your photo, Annette, to my Crystal Fountain and tell it to put a move on and bloom like yours does! Beautiful!

Duluth, GA(Zone 7b)

Thanks Lily and pirl. Pirl, I hope the CF picture will give your vine bloom envy, LOL. Lily, sorry you lost your vine in the floods. Can the vine be dug out, dried and replanted elsewhere or is it totally gone?

Athens, PA

Annette

that is gorgeous....

Arlene - If you threaten it, that may work. The second year after I had put in my Endless Summer hydrangea, I told it if it wasn't going to do better moving forward, that it was coming out. It has been gorgeous ever since!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I'll try it and report when it blooms. I remain the optimist.

Trenton, MI(Zone 5b)

warriorswisdomkathy, I love the blue clematis with the small white flowers ... are they baby breath?

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

My passi. was gone for good. Now I've a mature Yoshino Cherry tree that is struggling to survive. The flood was back in first week of March, the tree didn't show signs of stress and went ahead and bloom for me. But the leaves on the tree now are now developing, and I saw large branch that is ailing--turning brown. Bahumbug!

Duluth, GA(Zone 7b)

Would some Bayer Tree and Shrub 12 month help it? My cherry trees had issues every year, with sections that would die off, and also get mauled by Japanese beetles, but since I started using BTS, it's been helpful.
.
This is not a clematis, but kind on neat, it's a bleeding heart vine, Golden Tears.

That is very neat, Cem!! I've never seen a yellow BH.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

That is gorgeous. Love the differently shaped hearts.

Duluth, GA(Zone 7b)

Thanks, I got it from Select Seeds last year, and the vines are delicate, and blooms all summer. SS recommends planting it with Roguchi. I just have in by itself next to my bed of Bowl of Beauty peonies.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the source. Now to remember it for a year!

Duluth, GA(Zone 7b)

You're welcome, LOL. I can't remember this morning much less a year from now.

I'm a registered member of the CRS club ;)

Too funny venu. I laughed so hard when I read that, I got tears in my eyes.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

There's a thread now on DG about TGA - Transient Global Amnesia. Some people lose hours of their lives and never do recall what happened. I think I could make that years when I don't recall much.

Duluth, GA(Zone 7b)

So true pirl, so true for me as well. It's funny when my DH says he told me something, and I just don't remember.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

I might be a member of TGA also....can't recall ^_^

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Ha!

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

OK, I am so out of it I don't know why CRS is funny

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Can't Remember Spit (or close to it).
