I don't have a guess as to the name if it includes Moon though I do collect plants with "moon" as part of the name since we got married under a blue moon. Yes, I do have 'Blue Moon' (Claire de Lune) clematis! Funny but my husband's name is Jack!
At least you have your good memories of the mums. Uh oh! No bombs here. That would destroy all of our hard work, John!
From Buds to Flowers, Let's see Yours
Kim- gorgeous. What do you do in that area when your torch lilies are finished flowering?
Carolyn, last year I had Latanna with that Red Salvia and a Blue blooming flowers (forgot what it was) and it kept the area looking lush all through the growing season. Ofcourse, for winter I had Tulips and pansies there. It's a small garden that I decorated our sign to our subdivision. Needless to say, our community get to know me as the flower-lady. lol.
That reminds me, I have to plant the seeds I bought for them!
I've this evergreen passi. for years. In my region I didn't know they were hardy outdoor at first, Arlene, as a result I have been hauling it in the winters then back out every growing season. Then one year I inadvertently forgot this one small pot outdoor. It survived through the dorman period. So there it remains -- outdoor ever since. I haven't tried Passi from seeds, will they have enough time to produce flowers that same year?
Henyi in question.
I have a Passion Flower in with my Mandevilla that comes inside to spend the winter so there's no way I can forget it. I think the seeds will flower in time but will bring the pot of them inside at the end of the season anyhow to be sure they'll flower outside next year.
Here's a full front view of my 'Henryi' so if you could take a photo of yours to show the same view, perhaps we could get a better idea.
What a beautiful bloom to kick off your clem season!!
Looks like you had some rain, Time! That seedling is beautiful!
Yes, velvety maybe 'Niobe'. Long lasting blooms too.
Beautiful blossoms, John.
I love the velvety ones, too.
that velvet comes through even in a picture!
Venu ...Have we ever had rain. Literally a foot of rain fell here last week. We are expecting 6 inches in the next 2 days.
There are so many beautiful bllooms on this thread . I love all of the pictures
.
John - your first one appears to be 'Nelly Moser'. It's a favorite here as well.
Much of the northeast has been inundated with rain during April - no need for sprinklers!
Pirl ...I remembered it as that but wasn't sure. I think your right.
Here to.. Last year I had one water bill of 200 dollars. I wonder where the middle went.
We just don't seem to have "normal" seasons anymore.
We've had rain here too, but not a foot in one week! I'm just hoping we don't get all the rain now and none in June, July, August and September. I know the water bill pain...last year one was over $400.00.
We have high water bills as well. However, I am hoping that it soon stops raining. I don't want another summer like the one before last where it rained almost daily..... can't enjoy summer that way.
Yes, drought is a pain, the opposite is also true--flood. We've had our flood this early spring. Now tornado season. Arrrgggg. So often no one talks about disaster but only showing pretty things such as how pretty our spring is. Behind it all there are dreadful thing happening. :((
Stay safe, Lily. The line of tornadoes look extremely dangerous.
Yes Kim. Stay safe. Tornadoes can be so terrifying. I still get nightmares from when I was 5 and we lived in Minnesota....
Will do. Have a blessed evening. I'm going to sign out and hunker down. Will return tomorrow sometimes when it's clear. Carolyn, Tornadoes is really terrifying. We've had two fatalities in our county last evening due to strong winds, indeed tonite is a larger system through our area.
Interesting....when I was 5 I lived in Minnesota!
Looks nice with the Baby's Breath, Kathy. If you look at the bottom of the pic, it looks like it's snowing on the blooms.
Louise - sounds ironic to me.... makes me wonder if we went to Kindergarten together.
Trade names of your home towns so we'll know!
Stunning photo with the Baby' Breath, Kathy! Just gorgeous.
I was in a burb of Minneapolis. Kindergarten was the only grade I attended in Minnesota. I can't remember the school's name or the teacher's, but I do remember I liked her......maybe she grew clems :)
Miss Anna Louise?
Remember Miss Louise of Romper Room?
Thankyou both, now I need to find other groupings for the rest of my clematise, right now have in a row. Were transferred from another garden and current garden still in establishing phase. Gosh Maybe should do more this year, lol. Am getting some shrubs planted this year, but will still be smallish. Guess I'll have to use more posts.
Did Miss Louise ever call your name?
