From Buds to Flowers, Let's see Yours

How sweet, Cem. Have fun with the camera photographing the newest clem's to open.

It's beautiful but so difficult to take my eyes away from the view you have!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Thank you Arlene, you're invited to visit anytime you happen to be by the area. The reddish hue of the previous picture was a reflection of the sunset this evening. May I add, not all sunset look this pretty. lol

Glorious, absolutely glorious!

Duluth, GA(Zone 7b)

Ok Lily, I have view envy. Your view is INCREDIBLE!!!!! Nelly Moser is also pretty, I haven't grown her at this home, but had her at my last.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Thank Annette, we're very blessed with the view. I'm glad you've enjoyed it as well. We're not too far from each other, so maybe we can trade places for a change of scenery sometimes?

Ah hah! My first Ville de Lyon opens this morning;

This is a precursor for something good. It's alot more fun to have more than just two look-a-like clematis in one area. Here 'Baby Blanket' roses are also making its show and other roses are making buds as well. Oh I've added 'Little Ones' Foxgloves to the area to add vertical interest.

Very pretty trio!

Nice combo Lily. Your blooms are so far ahead of mine even though we're in the same zone. Hope everything is fine with crazy weather we're getting tonight. We need the rain but I can do without the strong straight line winds and tornado watches. Be safe tonight.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Thanks Arlene and Annette, Annette thanks goodness the weather passed through without much damage. A big oak branch was twisted off by the strong wind and landed by our doorway caused minor damage, lots of plants in pots got knock over, but no major crisis here. Once again we're counting our many blessing.

I believe this may be our 'Fireworks'? strangly there is but this loner bloom without other bud from this one vine. In years pass, when this one bloom the flowers covered the entire vine. Hmmm.

Another Nelly Moser in a container that got wind whipped over, I kind of flipped its right side up, and viola! Picture perfect Nelly! ^_^

Looking absolutely lovely Lily! I'm still checking at ground level for spring growth on most of my clems, so I do have some zone envy going on.

Duluth, GA(Zone 7b)

Beautiful Lily, I like the Niobe, BOW combo. I've only ever planted my clems individually. I may have to try a combo plant with my clemies from Brushwood when they arrive. Glad you didn't get too much damage last night. The storm was much ado about nothing here. We had some wind and rain but not as severe as the meteorologists predicted. Annette

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Very nice combos Lily!
I have 9 blooms on Belle of Woking,

Glorious photos again, Kim. Ven209 (Louise) and I have even been using a magnifying lens to try and find some growth on a few clem's!

Glad to hear the storm was not a problem for you, Annette.

Beautiful, banana!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Awww, bananna18, I think my neighbor's B.of W. takes on that lovely color, where as mine is almost prestine white.

Is Belle of Woking really that vivid magenta? And The President - what an intense color!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

All gorgeous, Kim.

Louisville, KY

This is Guernsey Cream the first for me this year. Not a great picture. This is a very prolific clematis. It had perhaps 50 blooms on it last year which was its first year in my garden.

Beautiful, John. It appears to have that light green stripe...or am I seeing things?

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Very nice John! I "might" have lost Henryi this year, Guernsey Cream would be a nice replacement.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Guernsey Cream is very nice, I agreed. lol Arlene, the green stripe are/appear to be on the posterior of the petals. Really cool!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Okay guys, this belongs to my neighbor. But this IS another version of Belle of Woking, am I correct? This clem. was the reason I went and persuit mine. It took several years before mine was mature to set flowers -- but they turned out white instead.

That's what it's supposed to look like but few of us ever get it looking like that. It's an exercise in frustration. Most photos appear either white or the very palest of lavenders and not at all like some nurseries show it to be.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

It's bit early for Jackmanii to put on a show, but I think the vine was generous to give off a couple 'early' blooms. I noticed the one I had in the back of the garden, last week it gave me one lone flower too. What do you think? A signal of the blooms to come?

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Oh, yes! It's the most anxious one I have.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

If you like that form and color, you could try Teshio. It is truly lavender. My Belle is not as lavender as your neighbor's nor as white as yours.

What a beautiful Belle! Do you have a photo of Teshio for us?

Just found it!

I'd still like to see a photo of yours, Louise.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Hmmm, now I may decide that my neighbor's is 'Teshio' instead of B.o.W. lol

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Thanks Pirl. Took a while, but I found it. He was still very young last year, looking forward to this year.
