M.N. is cruel.

DH had shoveled a driveway path & the plow roll & now that we are home again trying to clear the slush so it won't freeze on the driveway. Only 34°. We got much less than Bill farther west & certainly less than anyone in Maine. A bit over 2" here, but so heavy but still the birch trees on the north side of the drivway had thir tips touching the slightly raised bed on the south. DH shook the snow off & they gradually moved bacck into place by 10 am.

Bill has a very good suggestion as to shaking snow off as many shrubs & small trees that you can do safely with wet snow. Our phone has been playing games a bit.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

beware with larger trees - neighbors may think there are snowman moving about your yards - got covered good a few times:)

Too late!
My boots are 10" and it's over the top of them already and still snowing!

Oh tough Luck. We can hope for higher temps over the weekend & a faster melt.

It snowed 6" and now it is all Melted !!!

Thomaston, CT

Well, hasn't this been a fun winter/spring for the nation? Only had a dusting of snow here, my son had 4" north of me.....was hoping for a late opening, but no luck!

South Hamilton, MA

2" is the final count here. That doesn't seem like much (especially if you live in Maine,) but annoying.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Shucks you guys had all the fun, we did'nt even see a flurry here today.

- It was definitely cold & wet day though, more so for some than for others...

Crazy guy! Nice shots.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

I love all the snow shots. Bill, where was that taken in your yard? Celeste - I can't believe how much you got! That shot of the snow on top of the bird feeders and the shot of your poor lilac said it all. The ducks in the pond were so pretty!

John and Liza - what a beautiful shot!! How are you guys doing up there?

WC - I love that shot of the wave! Gorgeous!

Lucy - it sounds like you lucked out!!

Marilyn - sorry you didn't even get a late opening out of it!! lol

Sherrie - are you serious? All that snow melted already?????? Wowzer! That's what I like to hear!!

Mid-Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5b)

Wow, I'm sorry for all the snowed in gardeners. While we got some heavy snow, the temps were high enough that it didn't stick around and during the day we mostly got rain. Hopefully over night it'll stop all together.

Sure wouldn't want to live around Donnor's pass. Those were some interesting storms.

Naugatuck, CT(Zone 5a)

Wow, that pick of the house in Calif with al that snow! OUCH, I guess I need to stop whining!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

That was my thought too. Someone always has it worse.

(Pam) Warren, CT(Zone 5b)

The ground was white when we got here, and it snowed all day. Our friends who live 5 minutes away couldn't believe it, but I have pictures to prove it. I won't be digging any time soon.

Good morning.

Sorry to see some of you got snow.

It is currently brilliantly sunny and 29 degrees in WNY. Heading for the upper 40's today.

Have a blessed and super Saturday, folks.

Thomaston, CT

Same to you, Dave.....Pam, the snow should melt quickly....around 50 for today.....I'd like to do some raking, but the lawn is soggy....

South Hamilton, MA

Snow on the roof is melting & dripping from the gutters. I could see the tops of crocus flowers peeking out; but the reticulata had closed blossoms, don't blame them.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

50° here, wind from the West at 18mph, windchill 45° and we have mostly sunny skies overhead.

Going up to 53° today but it's windy, just saw a guy walking his Chihuahua with a parka.
(the guy was wearing the parka... lol!)

Dropping down to 34° tonight with a windchill of about 27°.

Boston, MA(Zone 6a)

I worked in our community garden on Thursday without a coat and by Friday morning it was all covered in snow. Fortunately didn't last more than a morning here. This was one of the harbingers of spring I saw in the garden on Thurs.

Heard only one peeper while walking today, but a loud chorus of leopard frogs.....I walk the dogs separately, but both stopped at the same place, mesmerized by the frogs.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)
