Elfy, I am jealous you get to see a GBH's nest. I was told there is one nearby and I couldn't find it for the looking.

The Evening Grosbeaks came for a short visit yesterday. It was fun to see them again.

The Brown headed Cowbird are now here. No pictures of them yet.
Some Redpolls were sitting in the same tree, the Evenings Grosbeaks were in.

What a wonderful thread this and the last couple have been. I've been watching with envy.

Back after a few minutes and hanging its wings out to dry.

It did a lot of preening, rubbing its beak and head against it's preen gland and then going over all its feathers to condition them.

Great pics. Margaret, the "28" Parrots are so colorful. Enjoyed the Pied Cormorant's antic. Love those Redpolls Burn. The Cowbirds are quite secretive here. I'm sure I'll see the surrogate parents bringing their fledglings to the backyard feeder soon as Spring progresses. Brownheaded Nuthatch revisited yesterday after a few weeks absence.

Black-crowned Night Herron visits early this AM.

Lily_love, look high! I had never seen a great blue nest before. I almost missed this one just b/c it was so high up. Gorgeous Night Heron!

Margaret, WOW! Beautiful pictures of great birds. Just awesome.

Here's a White-Winged Dove sunning to kill parasites and another dove silhouetted in front of him. Weird pic huh?
