What is blooming in Dallas in MARCH/APRIL 2011
Native fame flower, flowers are smaller than I was led to believe but still a fabulous deep purple/pink. I am hoping it reseeds.
Burgendy gaillardia, I am wondering if someone can tell me if this is the native I see listed under this common name or a just a hybrid. I got it at Rodentas last fall.

I just came back from FL and I was so surprised on how dry the soil is ! OMG !

Red Poppy which is one of my favorite flower.
It reminds me of Italy where I grew up untill I was 28 yrs and moved to the USA.
In the summer time all the fields are full of poppies ...
I bought a few bags of seeds a few yrs ago and the Poppies are still coming up everywhere.
I love them ...

My poppies come up from seed too.
The bearded iris are suffering. They are spring flowers, 93 heat today may be just too much, combined with the strong winds that continue

are those delphinums with your poppies?
Delphs don't do well in our area, too hot, I think....These are an annual larkspur spread as seed in the fall for early spring blooms. They reseed like the poppies, but die out when the weather starts getting to hot.....Reappear next spring

go to the www.wildseedfarms.com site for Texas seed.......only one kind of larkspur seed offered there.......great seed company I have been buying from them for years. My perennial wine-cup will be blooming shortly, I will picture them when they do. Started from seed, I think u will like them. seeds are best planted in the fall here and in your area as well.
