Chayote squash

I am trying to grow Chayote squash for the first time. I have problem deciding where in my back yard to plant them since the internet shows this type of squash has very strong root system. Can any one tell me if the root system will damage foundation or water pipes? I have sprinkler system all over my yard and don't want to end up with lots pipe problems...
