I was wondering how to propagate linaria from seed. I have read that I should stratify the seeds first, but I've also heard that you don't have to give the seeds that treatment. Which way is the correct one? Thanks!

how to start linaria from seed
Which Linaria? I don't know if the requirements are different, but I started L. maroccana by just throwing them on top of the ground, gently tamping, and that was it (well, I watered them on occasion too). I planted them in late winter but my winters aren't that cold so I wouldn't say they really got much in the way of stratification. They come up very easily. If you plan to start them outside I'd wait until closer to your last frost date since the seedlings wouldn't likely survive a late freeze in your zone.
I have Linaria purpurea and Linaria purpurea Canon J Went.
Thanks!
Both those 2 varieties do well if you just take cuttings and overwinter them in a cold frame, That is of course once you germinated them!
Thanks! I will keep that in mind!
