If I had a lobster roll for every pair of glasses I've lost or broken, the Atlantic would be depleted of lobsters. Oh My....I just realized I have to wait until 2012 to have a lobster roll :(
Clematis are Starting...
Salivating........
torcher Pirl
How did you know that Jack also calls me "Torcher Pirl"???
In reality, those lobster rolls have icy cold lobster, a touch of mayonnaise and are served on a HOT frankfurter roll with the split top!
your killing me.
Sorry about that chief!
Sounds so good. Have one for me - seems when I hit 50 years old, that the seafood allegies kicked in .... I can't have lobster any more.
I remember in cooking school we had to learn how to steam lobsters, I will never forget the sound when you drop the poor thing in hot water. But I don't want to spoil your taste for good meal. Because I never grow up eating it, I rather have a good piece of fried chicken or catfish. We also had to fix escargot, suprisingly , I liked it with garlic butter.
I can't imagine any creature makes happy sounds at the moment of death but I'll take the lobster and you can have the escargot!
Sorry to hear of that allergy, Carolyn. I wish I were allergic to Godiva....maybe not.
Get ready you mid agers. Strange stuff shows up after 50.
Thats when I aquired fear of heights, claustrophobia, seasonal allergies.
And...
more of a fear of falling or tripping
losing balance more often
the weight you could lift at 30 gives you grief at 65 and 70
compost gets heavier as we age!
I have not had escargot since I learned about my new found allergies.... something I need to try. The one thing that I really miss is the Alaskan King crab. I always liked that the best. I have always had allergies, now I also have some seafood allergies. I can still have calarmi though. Love good calamari...
Strange as it sounds, the best calamari I ever had was in Hawaii, near Oahu.
Arlene - interesting. The best calamari I have had was at Delmonico's.... I love Delmonico's...
We could have a Clematis Lover's Favorite Food Places thread!
You go to Boston, have you ever tried the Budapest Cafe? Fantastic mushroom soup and the best coffee I've had anywhere...ever.
Sounds like a good idea for a thread. I have not tried the Budapest Cafe - where is it in Boston? I love mushroom soup too...
Copley Square Hotel, lower level. That soup is in the book of Gourmet's Top Restaurant Foods (or some name equal to that).
Sounds good. I'll have to put that on my must try list for Boston...
Didn't make it to Boston, I was in Springfield watching the oldest grand play soccer. Chilly today!
Willy is so sweet. What lovely colors on it, Carolyn!
I've never even seen Red Beetroot! It's gorgeous. Where did you buy it?
Oh Arlene - I bought her from Joy Creek Nursery a couple of years ago. She is also called Betina.... She is a beauty when she is open all the way...http://www.clematis.hull.ac.uk/new-clemdetail.cfm?dbkey=14
I checked Joy Creek really quickly and didn't see this one on their listings anymore.....:(
Thanks. I'll keep my eyes open for it.
