Just moved to Vista, CA. Need suggestions for vines and bushes to attract birds. Large yard. Some full morning shade, some full sun.

Flow,
I apreciate your suggestion and the link. Too late to check it out tonight but will do so tomorrow.
Thanks,
Ernie
Native plants are always good for that--here's a site that's a great reference for natives: http://www.laspilitas.com/ They also sell plants, but even if you don't want to buy from them they've got some great resources.
Hi ERNIE, I am just back from 3 wonderful weeks out your way, I have to admit, the one thing I did miss was the sound of birds in the morning, It is always great when people want to plant for wild life rather that looking to get rid, ofcource some wildlife is a no, no, but birds are gardeners friends along with some insects and flying bug we need for pollination.
I don't know all the plants that would suit your zone but to grow for birds I can advise you to grow plants / shrubs / trees with berries, some shade from the hot days, some that are thick bushy to offer birds protection from weather AND predators.
I have not fully unpacked yet but have returned home with some garden / plant books from that wonderful book store you have USA, B&Noble where they have a wide selection of garden books you can look through with pictures of winter / summer colour etc so, go along with note pad and pencil and get some thoughts to get your ideas flowing, you will be delighted with the extent of plants etc to suit your needs. Good luck. WeeNel.
