Spring 2011 - What's blooming in your garden? Part 2

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

A very pretty bloom Dirtygirl.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

No new MGs blooming right now. But ...

My day lilies have been blooming like crazy this past week! Here is a photo collage of just a few of the different ones I have blooming! They are all NO ID crosses shared with me by other gardeners! :-) All of them are just gorgeous! I really lucked out getting these to grow from seed and now have such beautiful blooms! :-) :-) Day lilies are so easy to grow, too! :-)

I agree.. those are gorgeous, I do not grow daylillies very much. Just asiactic stargazer and ditch and some yellow one.
Spending the day at home to be with my darling Duke Dog, a Beagle, his last day on this earth is today.

Joeswife, I'm so sorry it's your last day with Duke, I lost 2 last year so I know how you feels. Will be thinking of you today. (((Hugs)))

Thanks for the nice compliments everyone!

Debra - So sorry to hear about you having to say goodbye to a dear member of your family. That is the hardest part of having pets is saying goodbye since we usually outlive them. I consider pets our little Earth Angels. I love all the pets I've had over the years and saying goodbye is so heartbreaking. Something I recently heard about ... the local humane shelter will euthanize your pet for free and here we have a beautiful garden/seating area where you can spead time with your pet until you are ready to comfort them until you are ready to face the end with them. I wished I'd known about this as I would have taken my little dog Bailey there. The vet euthanization was a horrible experience because he was so distraught being there. I won't ever do that again. I'll definitely be going to the humane shelter next time. {{{Hugs Debra!}}} I hope Duke and you had a good day together one last time.

pixie - Beautiful blooms! I particularly like your Hellebore and your Primrose. Those are plants I never ever see here! I am impressed with all the colors you have of Hyacinths! Lovely all of them! :-)

Thanks, all.. we ave been having a grand day here, and in this city you have to pay for the end of life, but the dr who has taken care of him for 17 years is a customer of mine, we swap discounts, and he knows I and my family love Duke very much, son and one of the daughters will be with me and Duke this evening at the place. Pixie, you have some gorgeous blooms, I have always wanted to see a lungwort, thank you for the picture!
Duke and I just came in from outside, we had chicken and noodles and a cupcake for dessert.. ;) He is so tired he is asleep on the pillow now.. my pink and white bindweeds should be blooming soon. so kacited, so was duke as he was sniffing around..

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Love the beauties blooming in your yard Pixie.
Debra, I must have missed your story of whats wrong with your Duke boy. So sorry. We
also had to say good bye to our 15 yr old Tisha, malamute, yesterday. Couldn't let her suffer so we had no choice. If that wasn't enough, I came in from the dentist and running a couple of errands to take my mind off of everything and my Crippled cat was missing and has not turned up. I fear the worst. she's my baby, sleeping on my bed. We have never made her stay inside, she likes the sun and fesh air just like we do. We usually could find
her in 1 of her fave hiding places and get her in before dark but not this time.
We havent give up hope that she will come back safe.

This is supposed to be Iris Steve purchased from Wayside but I don't think so
not dark enough, I like it anyway.

Here's one with a strange leaf configuration, it has 3 leafs in each set instead of 2.

Thanks Pixie and Debra. My world is a much happier place with our Crippled Baby back in it. Was bad enough losing one of our dogs, losing another pet the same day would have been a lot to bear
Debra, pretty yellow, is it a spanish shawl plant or Lychnis?

Melbourne, FL

Lovely flowers. I have been so tempted by Water Lilies, but I read they must be a certain depth. Have you found this to be true, Becky?
