Pixie I am having a great time with the links you gave me. So many beautiful flowers to look at. I have to get my charge card paid up a little bit, I really mean a lot. Thanks again. By the way, went to Lowe's today, and of course they had some nice looking Daylilies and Iris that just jumped into my cart. Watch out for the entrance.

roseycats, for anyone that wants to try Japanese iris, Ensata has a great 10 for 39.00 special. Their choice, but it's always nice ones.
Your very welcome Rosey, I know what you mean about spending....could get carried away very easily. :)
Polly, I have no idea which J.I. that one is...it's not labled on the photo, hopefully I still have a marker beside the plant this spring!
I have these 2 but the names did not match the blooms when I bought them. I think these were from a little nursery out in the country we stop at sometimes.
love the stripes!
Me too and since they did not bloom according to the tag colors....I was pleased to see that they at least made a great combo! LOL
always good!!
Do the JI need full sun?
Mine are all in full sun Robin....but pirl & polly would be better judges:)
I think they do best in full sun, but can also take probably some light shade. I have many Sib iris that are in light shade, and they do well in spite of that fact. They bloom much better in full sun, though. Same with daylilies. Will do okay in light shade, but do best in full sun.
Karen
Echi and friend.
Just as Karen said, they can take some light shade but perform best in full sun.
Thanks....I have more light shade than sun.....
Some of my prettiest ones are in part shade. The shade seems to make the flower last longer, and stand out more. Sun can bleach the flower out some. They tend to get a little taller in part shade, also.
But as Pirl and Karen said, they perform best in full sun. Grow the best and have the most flowers.
With mostly part shade I would certainly try a few, though.
nutsfordaylily. what a fabulous photo of your pal on the echi. I missed having just rain in Nantucket as I had gone to Boston but we only had a couple of inches on it. I had to clean the windshield off ,but it was, thankfully a none event. Done I hope for the season, but Nantucket had very little. I hope that doesn't mean issues for plants that like snow cover in the winter. Every thing is popping, so I think all is good. Here is one of our pals. Patti
Nice pic, Patti. That bee looks very happy to be so busy.
Karen
Nice photo, Patti....I also spotted a bee yesterday on the heather.....

Beautiful stripped Jl, Pixie I think I seen one on Ensata Garden's web site that you put on here. By the way I'm almost ready to order some flower's from them, they have so many beautiful flowers it's hard to make up the mind which one's to get.
I also found another place called Roots and Rhizomes they have nice looking Jl and Sl also. I don't know about their shipping yet.

Here's a picture of some Iris's that jumped into my cart a few days ago. from Lowe's
Those are very pretty, RC. I've ordered daylilies from R&R several years ago. I got such small plants and they took about 3 years before they finally bloomed. Have not ordered from them since.
