transplanted new growth to other areas,some took,some died out....what, besides mulch ,can I do to help new plants to establish themselves.Are there soil additives that may help.Also,seems they do well in shade or sun .I have mine growing as trees .found out(after listening to wife),best way to dig up new growth,was to water heavy,pull up slow.

Hi Hoboze...I have found that amending my Georgia soil with worm castings has really helped my Rose of Sharon seedlings do great. I have severely neglected them from time to time and they just keep on kicking. Good luck!
You can also use root stimulator to aid in sturdy root production.There are a number of products out there. this is one I am familiar with
