I have a couple of the Kerria Japonicas also and love them, they are a sunny spot in a mostly brown landscape right now. Mine is still only about 18 inches, your's is georgeous.

As I was out taking that shot I noticed the first bloom on a purple verbena. Everything blooming really stands out when we are waiting on spring.
I forgot to get a shot of my first spring iris that isn't a double bloomer. Maybe later. Oh and Columbines will be blooming in a couple days too.

Is the Kerria something that would grow up on a trellis? a climber? I don't think I have ever seen one. I may have to have it

I have this pretty vine/ground cover. I have no id as to what it may be. The runners grow to 10 feet or more . It does not have tenicles to climb, but it will grow up and under the gutter downspouts, Or it just runs along the ground and attaches itself every so often. It is pretty , but I don't like what it's doing. It has to be something I bought , butttt why or what I have no recall. Please help with an ID or this one is compost

another pic. Closer observation does show that it has stuff to stick to the brick. It has not done that and I am not sure I want it to. It was green and pretty all thru the winter, so it must be a valued plant for somewhere

Sorry, I don't know what it is.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I do, but don't and it is invasive. I don't have a picture and can't find the name right now.
Josephine, it is in the small green "Non-Native Invasive Plants" book that Frank gave out at the Wildscape that year. I can't find my book, may have given away my last copy.

Kerria doesn't need a trellis. My picture has a pot with an obelisk infront...just for confusion:)
I don't think the johnny jump ups are native.

That is a pretty iris. Mine are just starting to bloom too. I have one very tall one open the rest are the normal height.

This is the first blooms showing on my Columbines...love those.

well out of the 250 or more iris, I have the old whites, one purple, and one 2 plicata blooming....a total of 6 individuals.....not a lot to brag about yet......but I am soooo anticipating. If we don't get the severe winds and hail this year, it looks like my iris season will be fantastic

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Pretty columbine blooms, Sheila! I lost all of mine during the heat last summer. :(

The wind was just too strong to take any pictures today !!
I hope soon.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

My poppies started blooming today, but they wind beat them up pretty good. Will try to get pics of ones that bloom in the future days.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Wow, mine haven't started their stems as yet. But then they were covered with leaves like everything else.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

There should be at least one open today. It was poking straight up last night when I was out WEEDING again! LOL

Sugar Land, TX(Zone 9a)

I had to laugh when I saw this picture. In the background is my dog chasing squirrels. Only thing is that she is standing in the raised bed. Not so good.

Another georgeous group of pictures. Love the statue too. My first LA Iris just bloomed too. You must spend your whole day in the garden ....so lovely.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

That is gorgeous! What is growing on the uprights behind the statue?
Dogs are immune to our garden territories. I have a wellscalped dog run in my yard. Good thing is, not even the weeds grow there!

Behind the statue I have roses and Clematis.
I have a variety of Clematis that is beautiful, but it doesn't claim the arbor. It just stay low - no matter if I trim it or not.

I just cannot add the picture !! my browser is not working right !!
