Hello,
There were some day lilies planted right next to my house that I decided to dig up and I want to transplant them to another location. When I dug them up, I realized how HUGE the roots are (some 2 inches in diameter) and the bulbs were bigger than softballs. The place I want to plant them is next to our concrete patio slab and I'm wondering if the roots are likely to grow so long that they will crack the slab?
Thanks,
Rebecca
Day Lilies
I don't think a clump of daylilies could possibly crack pavement. I wouldn't worry about it.
Thanks. I think you're right based on everything I've read but I couldn't find definite answers which is why I checked here. It freaked me out because the roots are so big but they are soft so I agree that they won't be a problem. I just can't believe how big the roots are.
Thanks so much!
