If i save seeds from a petunia of a popular cultivar, is it possible that it would come true from seed, or do I have to buy new packets every year? Any advise helps:-)

I would think it would depend on which petunia you have as to whether they come back true or not. I have had many a petunia self seed year after year though.
Personally I would take the seeds from your petunias at the end of this growing season and see what you get.
