Great shot!
How sweet!
Glad that he says 'please'.
Cute pic, Ronnie
Sorry Buffy's not feeling good
Love the pic Ronnie!
Great photo....love that face, all squished up!
Love the pic, Ronnie!
Thanks for the prayers and well-wishes for Buffy. He has not eaten since Sat. Has been gagging for about a month now. So full of arthritis and very lethargic. He is very old.
Karen
He's a handsome guy....I'd spoil him, too!
Our dog is a pitbull boxer mix and she is the sweetest dog I've ever known. Although she did knock me on my butt yesterday, I was starting to go up the step to the deck when she came running from across the lawn and bumped into my other leg. But she also broke my fall. She was as surprised as I was.
Mr. G is too sweet
Glad you didn't fall, Debi.
Mr. G is a very handsome boy.
Buffy went to the vet and they did blood work. Won't find out till tomorrow afternoon how that turns out. Will have to see what the verdict on his kidneys is. Might be failing. The vet had us take home a few cans of special food for him to try. He ate it. This is the first he's eaten since Sat. It's much higher in calories, so smaller cans. But they're $2 a can.
Karen
Oh, and the vet bill for today was $270. They wanted to do x-rays, too, but we decided to just get the blood work done. It would have been over $600 with the x-rays, and we have property taxes due.
Karen
they do beat us up
Yup they beat us up financially, physically and emotionally but we keep lovin em anyway!
Karen - It is a good thing that Buffy ate something. Now you have to check and make sure it comes out the other end. LOL!
If it is kidney disease there are lots of internet resources out there to learn more about it.
For the arthritis there is cosequin - a kind of glucosamine made for cats as a sprinkle that I know helps and I buy it over the internet.
I am testing out an injectable glucosamine with my arthritic cat and I will post when the first eight doses are done and tell everyone how it is working. After only three doses, she is much more active - so I think it will be good.
I have fingers crossed for a good report from the blood work.
I had an unexpected vet bill today, I thought Bugs the cat was dying this morning.
emotional stress.....millions
vet bill......................$37.00
healthy kitty............priceless
Memory, are you giving the injections at home? SubQ?
What was wrong, Weeze?
Yes, sorry to hear, Weeze and glad all is well.
Glad he's okay, Weeze. Glad the vet bill wasn't higher, too.
Memory, let me know how that cosequin works for your cats. Maybe I can try it with Buffy.
I have noticed the past few days that Patches has been having trouble getting up into my bed and on her bench bed in the living room. I think she's having a flare up from the Lyme disease. Will have to get her something for the pain.

Old wives' tale: a crushed clove of garlic in a dog's or cat's food removes toxins and parasites (worms, too), and helps circulation.
I don't know if it's true.
Middle europeans believe the same thing for people.I knew a woman from Bohemia. She chewed garlis all the time, hard to be in conversation with her.
This is a riot. Hope its not old.

hope all is ok Weeze.... I know no one on here would overfeed garlic to an animal.. but if given too much it can be bad
http://www.natural-dog-health-remedies.com/garlic-for-dogs.html
I was spreading garlic in my gardens to keep out the bunnies and Wall-e was going after it to eat it....UGH had to switch to Liquid Fence in the backyard...he ate the Irish Spring soap too...dopey dog!
But he had sweet breath!
I have heard that about garlic, for people that is. In fact, Dr. Oz, who poo poo's old wive's tales, even says there is truth that garlic is good for you. Helps your immune system or something. Don't know about getting rid of toxins.
Karen
That was a funny video!
I used some kind of garlic stuff to keep the squirrels out of my containers and the dogs ate it instead. My neighbors chew or take garlic all the time, yeah it's hard to have a conversation!
I love garlic! I consider it a lifestyle.
The cosequin works very well - I have been using it for a year at least. I have my fingers crossed on the adequin - Holly is only on the third loading dose - five more to go to see haw much relief she gets. However I have seen much more of her since giving the shots - they are subQ.
Hope all goes well for our furry kids.....Robs finished his arthritis meds, & I've noticed he's stiff again, even though he's still on an antibiotic for the Lyme, so I'll call the vet's & get more....I think the med really helps! I know pits have bad reps, but I've met many who were just super dogs......very obedient & affectionate.....my neighbor has a pit-collie cross.....Olive is very sweet. Here's my tough guy taking his morning nap....
Awww, fuzzy wuzzy!
Yes, he looks like a Muppet, acts like the Tasmanian Devil!
