Love the absolutely DREADFUL pics, everyone!!

Here's an interesting one:

In addition to being horribly out of focus and the colors being all wrong (the shed should be gray, not blue). . . my yard appears to be haunted! The Goldfinch can't take his eyes off of whatever that "thing" is that's floating around on the left!!

Margaret, yours bad shot is my treasure! lol. nutsaboutnature. tehehehehe by any chances you're getting ready for Holloween? lol

PERTH, Australia

Ha ha, Kim.

I'm on a roll. Here is a flock of Black Cormorants (believe it or not), heading home to roost.

Yup....that parrot shot would be a keeper for me....but the cormorants shot is REALLY bad! lol

Love that finch watching the UFO!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Oh my I forgot about this one from back in July. I have no idea what bird it is...it just took off as I took the shot!

Big Hook landing at the nest. Hmmm. Or is it Dad landing at the nest. Please note that the water is nicely in focus.

Awww, could someone please wash the film off the window? This could have been a good image of me showing off. Said the Juvie Redbellied Woodpecker.

Whoa! That's better. Many thanks Resin. The past few days, mama RBWP brought this youngin' here. He learnt quick on how to pick up peanuts from feeder and brought to that spot to peck at it. Thanks again for clearing up the pic.

Algonquin, IL(Zone 5a)

Wow. . . How'd you do that, Resin?

PERTH, Australia

Resin, if you can clean windows with the click of a button, can you send me the link?

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Tehehehehe, Margaret, just you wait 'til I ask Resin to brush the leaves off this Cardinal to reveal papa's glow while he's teaching Junior how to use the feeder below.

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

LOL, a click of the button and the window is washed, I'll go for that. Nice job Resin.

Kim, he's showing off really well now.

Margaret, the water looks real nice....

Nanny, it's an Oriole, a goldfinch a Yellow warbler, or it's super bird. ;))

Backlit birds don't come out well.

Blue Jay that didn't come out quite the way I had hoped.....though honestly I didn't know it was a jay when I took the pic!

how is this for dreadful? Would have been a great pic of my ducks with the 3 deer that were having a drink. But it was not to be...they high tailed outta there when they saw me.

here is another pic of a bird that I am trying to identify but it is a really crappy picture too...

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

The last one looks like a great egret, maybe? Awwww, the ducks and the deers should have brought much fun.

Mint Hill, NC(Zone 7b)

I wasn't sure because it looks so much smaller than the blue heron that have been visiting the pond. Maybe it is a juvie...if you look at the grass behind it ... that is no more than knee high.

I could maybe lighten the pic of the deer and ducks but it doesn't help the fuzziness. I was walking down the hill trying to snap the pic before they bolted so kinda hard to keep the camera still when your hurrying. I also had to do a major zoom on a little point and shoot camera. I wish there was a camera that did stabilized pictures for a decent price (under $250) out there...anyone want to chime in?

bad shot Magnolia Warbler....

I'm fast becoming the star of this show with my dreadful pics. A couple of Ospreys

Thumbnail by MargaretK

From the outlines, I thought I saw a Squirrel stands on its hind legs with the tail flopping. lol

PERTH, Australia

No-one would argue with you, Kim. LOL

(Zone 5a)

I am not able to be on as much as I was because of school starting. Also, our internet is very flaky right now.

Oh, I love the Osprey shot. :D

We are not aware of any successful nestings in this tree. Something always happens to the occupants. Two days before this was taken I had a good cry over the lost Chipping Sparrows, but seeing this Mourning Dove bringing in material for a nest gave me hope. I have not seen any further activity after this, so I do not know how the doves are fairing. I am not watching this as closely as I did the Chipping Sparrows. I don't want to have another good cry like that if I find out it fails.

The reason for this picture is I always like seeing the Mourning Dove's tail splayed like that, so I squatted at my "bird view" trying to watch for it's return to get a picture of it. Most often I only got the tree, but finally got this one, though poor. My legs were hurting something fierce by that time and I was glad to get up.

Boy Margaret...that must have really been an off day for ya!!

Hope the dove fair well Chillybean....I can't squat for long either anymore! lol

What was I thinking when I took this one?????

well that ain't right.....see below! lol
