Have any of you used Bite Blocker? I just learned of it today on the web. It is made from the oils of soybeans, geraniums, and coconuts and contains no DEET. I'm just curious if it does a good a job as Off! or Muskoll. Opinions, anyone?
Bite Blocker insect repellant?
Where is it available? Any idea? I don't use stuff like that but DW and DD smother it on...this sounds like something I'd highly recommend they use.
They have a website http://www.biteblocker.com and I'd imagine a search with Google.com would bring up merchants offering it. I'm kinda interested in it, too! :O)
I heard that there is going to be something new on the market. They have tested and found that catnip keeps mosquitos away. Heard it on the radio
Hmmmmm....which is worse, being swarmed by mosquitos or mobbed by cats? LOL! I love cats, have two of 'em, but I can imagine the following if I smeared catnip stuff all over me. I'd be like the Pied Piper of Hamlin! Can't you just see it?
:-D Kimberley
That would be a funny sight to see. Hey, since you're in Newark also, maybe we could get together sometime and have coffee or something. Maybe in the spring you could give me some pointers in my little yard area. That would be most awesome since I have no clue......lol
I'd like that. You ever go to Park Place Coffee Roasters? They have chicken salad with dill that's to DIE for...Ooooh, especially on a croissant, and with some Highlander Grog coffee. Just say when! :O)
You know, I've never been there before. We'll have to schedule it sometime. At the time I'm pretty busy and this darn toothache is driving me nuts. I'm not sure if there's something wrong with my tooth or if I have another wisdom tooth coming in.......Ouch!!. We will definatly have to get together some time though. Would be nice to meet someone from here in person, especially since you live in the same town. Wouldn't it be just too funny if you just lived like a street down from me or something.....lol. That would be weird :o)
Stay in touch!!
Kim
If you take pennyroyal and catnip, put in about a quart of water and simmer slowly on low heat for several hours,(till reduced by half) cool and strain, it makes a good mosquito repellant. I've tried the natural spray that Wal-Mart sells that contains neem and citronela, and it worked, but I had a bad reaction to the citronella in it. I would love to try the one you mention. I've also used lavender oil dabbed on the backs of my knees and ankles and it repels mosquitos too.
I don't know if Avon still sells Skin So Soft but I know that allot of guys in the military will actually use it for insect repellent.
Avon SSS does nothing for me. It works a very short time, if at all. :-( Nothing keeps the skeeters away like Muskol, but I hate smelling like that and don't like the thought of all the chemicals being absorbed into my skin.
