This female California Quail was all puffed up in the cold temps.

We can always count on seeing lots of Oak Titmice.

This one was sure telling me off.

The sun was too bright, but here's a Bewick's Wren.

Duc, that is a pretty outraged House Finch! Great shot.

Lakeview, OH

Success! I did not get a pic but the rb wp was eating off the new feeder! I have also had Tufted Titmice eating off it too. Also got a good pic of the Carolina Wren.

Congratulations Teddy!

Duc, Those are wonderful pics! I love the upset House Finch pic and the yapping Oak Titmouse! The Quail and Wren are very pretty!

Congratulations teddy!

PERTH, Australia

Lovely shots, everyone. I'm glad you're heading towards spring. You deserve it.

Here's a very hot Little Corella taken just a few minutes ago. The netting is there to prevent these destructive birds from chewing my sapling Albizia julibrissen into oblivion.

Nice one Margaret!

South Hamilton, MA

Interesting bird & a great idea about the netting.

Norman, OK

Great start, Resin. We have mostly RB gulls wintering here, but get a few Glaucous and Herring. They are so much larger, they really stand out of the crowd.

Had an interesting American Woodcock display last evening. Watched a male displaying for a couple of females. First time I have observed the 'skydance'. Woodcocks are few and far between around here, but now I know where a few hang.

I haven't been taking many pics. The goldfinches are beginning to get a little color. Another sign of spring.

Enjoying all the photos! So nice to see a Summer Tanager pic here! I have only ever seen 1 & it was an immature male.

We had the first red-winged black bird in the yard yesterday!! Have been seeing them everywhere the last few days

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Margaret, that Corella is just beautiful. It looks like a happy bird.

Red, cute goldfinch. Hope you'll be showing us some photos of the displays soon!

Nanny, I love the red-winged but they rarely come up to my feeders.

Yesterday this pair of Bald Eagles really gave us a show as they flew by. Unfortunately the sky was so gray the photos didn't come out well, but my husband did some work on them.

It always seems that when the rain/snow is due, the raptors seem more active. Unfortunately my territorial crows managed to chase them off.

Here's my only Slate-colored Dark-eyed Junco showing off.

a "show" is right. Looks like an air show with that synchronized flying.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Great capture of the Bald Eagles Duc. Wow could they be parent and juvie pair? Last time I looked at our local nest, the pair (both white headed) took off for a 'show' from the nest, but my poor camera didn't have the capacity for just a dim blurry pix then. Thanks for sharing them.

Lakeview, OH

Success! I have been standing out there for I don't know how long just to get a pic of this. Here he is, I guess patience does work(sometimes)!

That's a pretty cool upside down suet feeder teddy. Congrats on your patience pay-off. :)

"Look ma! No beak" lol, lol. I just realized that I'm the only one that have Pekin Ducks, anyone else?

... we've two pairs of these lovelies here, year round.

Get ready, here comes another round of snow, when THIS storm is over, totals are going to be close to 8 inches with blowing and drifting snow. Nuthatch finally descovered the suet feeder, now to get the Northern Flicker and the Pileated Woodpecker.

Congratulations Teddy-you're a success!

Lily, your ducks are beautiful. I haven't seen any here this year. Enjoy yours.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

I'm glad you enjoyed the Pekin ducks, Duc. Here is one of my fav. new comer. The Darkeyes Junco and budding roses; sign of spring.

duc...awesome shot of the eagle duo!!

Glad it found your suet teddy!

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

I'm late to the thread, I can't comment on individual basis, but thanks for all the variety of shots.

The exciting things going on is a short visit from the Bohemian Waxwings.

Lily, I'm so glad you're enjoying the sweet juncos-they sure are a beautiful little bird. So nice to see that your roses are budding.

Burn, love all your birds. That waxwing sure is pretty with more color than our Cedar Waxwings.

Hack, lol, cute!!

Nanny, glad the gang stood up to that finch-cute photos. The birds sure are happy with that feeder-looks like Ms. Cardinal is telling you that.

This Cooper's Hawk scared all my birds away just when I was having fun taking pictures yesterday.

The Robins and Cedar Waxwings are still here enjoying berries.
