Today, I am thankful for:
Nikola Tesla
Gerberas
Rippled potato chips
Today, I am thankful for power at my house, Cabela's and Steve Martin.
Today I'm thankful for wild geese. Saw some today at a neighbors pond. A first sign of spring.
Thankful to have a ham and sweet potatoes in the oven.
Nadine, I have sent you a seed packet to help the beekeeping. I think they are cute, hope you like them. If not, my feelings won't be hurt if you gift them to someone else. :-0

Thanks, Debra. That is sweet of you. Those sound pretty. I like coreopsis because they are so easy care and don’t require much supplemental watering.
Today, I am thankful for nonpdrowsy allergy medication to help me battle the pine pollen. And, that the trees don’t seem to be producing as much as they’ve done in previous years. There have been years when you could see it floating around like greenish-yellow clouds or some strange kind of swarm.
I’m also thankful tomorrow is Sunday. No work!!!
The oldest man I ever knew swore the secret to his longevity was that he ate sweet potatoes almost every day. Live long and prosper, Vickie. :-)
I agree. Cool pic.
Are you at a high altitude, Kwanjin? I'm just curious because I don't think Zone 5 when I think of Utah. Maybe, I should hit the road and see more of this country. I've never been west of the Mississippi. ~Nadine~
Yes, we are at 4300 ft. Our highest peak is King's Peak at 13,528 ft. The lowest place is just over 2000 ft.
Today, I'm thankful for Spaghetti Factory and 4 brothers whom I love.
Today, I am thankful for:
My grandniece's girlfriend's big, strong, generous brother. Was at my sister's house today when I got there after work and graciously volunteered to dig the hole for the rose we were planting in memory of my niece. That yard is even worse than mine when it comes to heavy clay!
Being the boss, which means I could sneak out for an hour this gloriously warm cloudy afternoon and go look at trees at the big box stores. Think I want to plant a dwarf, fruitless plum at the curbside strip. Or maybe a dwarf, true-red Crape Myrtle. NOT PINK!!. Or...well...something topping out at about 15 feet, anyway. :-)
That the much warmer weather seems to have helped make a much better mood. Actually looking forward to getting up tomorrow and working outside, rather than thinking I just want to pull the covers over my head and not move. If I have a guardian angel out there, she smells like a Texas Spring day. ^|^

I am so thankful for light blue crocus blooming in a small flowerbed in my yard today and for Jonquils sprouting buds.
Thankful for a warm wind.Thankful for an internet where i can look up any subject i want. Thankful I can quickly back out of one I don't want.
Thankful today for
The Coleus cuttings from last Fall that survived and are now potted up. Only have to keep an eye out for freezes (shouldn't be too many more for the Winter in these here parts).
The movie "Bell, Book, and Candle"
Chocolate covered sunflower seeds. Didn't know until yesterday anyone made them. :-)
When my sister visited the Scottish highlands tracing our ancestory, she discovered something. That she had become an American lowlander. Evidently, they don't always bother to put safety rails along highland roads and she discovered she was more than a little afraid of heights. She said it was embarrassing, but it unnerved her so much she had to turn over the driver's seat to our elderly aunt. It was Copenhagen she enjoyed most. She said Denmark was "wonderfully flat." :-)
Chocolate covered sunflower seeds are a new one on me as well. Sounds good.
Today I am thankful for the ease and convenience of grocery stores. I've been thinking about all the work our ancestors had to do just to survive. ~Nadine~
Pretty coleus. Do you have forsythia Debra? I know Jim and Kay do.
I am thankful the wild dogwood have alot of buds this year.It will be pretty later. We have some old Dogwoods.
Think we posted at the same time. It would be so neat to go to Scotland and Europe.

Today I am thankful the peach trees are beginning to leaf out. ~N~
I am thankful for all the beautiful flowing plum trees with their purple flowers. Harbinger of Spring, others should follow. Poplar trees have buds.
Thankful for the additional rain we had this last weekend (not so much for having the horses be able roam outside their puddley corrals). Chance of more rain this weekend.
Thankful all my pots, even big ones, were moved to the porch so horses could not munch on them or toss them off patio tables.
Vickie, I was going to say I was thankful for YOU! You rescued me. Thank you.
And I'm thankful for PBS.
And Wii!
Vickie, I would like that, thank you. :-) Will dmail my address.

Today, I am thankful for the coming Spring weather. Not masochistically waiting for a tornado to rip up my house with me in it. I just like the smell and feel of wild blowing winds and then the heavy rain. Thunderstorm clouds are fascinating to watch.
I am thankful for butter-yellow ceramic tile. When my sister replaced her hall bath shower enclosure with acrylic, she let me beg the old tiles from her. Always loved the color. Been in my garage for about three years. Haven't found what I want to do with them yet, but they're miiiiinnnnnne, all miiiiiinnnne [moohahaha]
I am thankful for yard faucets and water hoses. Have had to carry buckets of water to plants before. Far, far away from the water. Far, far, FAR away. Hoses are muchmuchmuch better.
Bunches of these coming up soon...
Today, I am thankful for mail and package delivery services, beef stew, crocuses, the robins Isaw today and milk.
Today I am thankful Debra has a hose and a place to attach it! LOL, sure beats buckets.
I am thankful the Dr. said my cholesterol normal. Now to work on blood sugar.
I am thankful today that Papa Jim made liver and onions. He says he can tell by the paleness of my skin when my iron is running low. I do feel more energetic now so he may be right. ~Nadine~
Today I am thankful for:
The abundance of fun 'stuff' in my life. Any food I want, warm and well-built shelter, comfortable fitting clothing, and lots of green growing things.
Health insurance. I pay a bundle, but it's worth every penny to me.
Roger Miller. King of the Road chug-a-lug roller skating in a buffalo herd, dang me. We have the same birthdays, too. Just the month and day, not the year. LOL
Today, I am thankful for split pea soup.
Today, I'm thankful for a $33 all plastic garden scooter from Walmart. It's just what i need to scoot around my flower pots to work.I know it wont last long. I've wanted one but could'nt afford a couple hundred dollars for one. Am considering planting some veggies now. Wish i could figure out how to get a raised bed built big enough to do some good.
I love Roger Miller too. Love "Kansas city Star" also. I think he did "Battle of New Orleans" Did'nt he sing the Streaker too. LOL Ethel has done been mooned.
The Streak is by Ray Stevens. I like him, too.
Today I am thankful for all the music I have left to write, all the music I have left to listen to, all the words I have left to write and all the words I have left to read! I hope I have time to do it all!
I like liver and onions, too, Nadine.
Cool, Vickie. :-)
Go, Carrie!

Today I am thankful for,
Eggs Benedict
Emoticons. Ubiquitous, corny, and still fun
Ernestine Anderson "Never Make Your Move Too Soon"
(Frank Capp/Nat Pierce Juggernaut, Live at the Alley Cat)
...and Minnie Pearl. Howww-DEEEEE!!!
Me three, mebbe with a little bacon? DH would never hear of such a thing! You know what's so cheap it seems nearly free? Chicken liver. Yum yum yum!
Today, I am thankful for public libraries and the librarian who suggested I might like Mercedes Lackey. ~N~
I am thankful for green grass. I saw some in the valley today.
Also for 70* temps today.
Thankful to bewelcomed so vigerously by my furbabies when i get home.
What kind of bird was that? That blackband looks familar.
Yes!!! I just read One Good Knight and The Snow Queen back-to-back. After reading a weighty work of non-fiction by Jonni Eareckson Tada, I needed some light, escapist reading for balance. Mercedes Lackey was perfect.
Today, I am thankful for echinacea and onion gratin soup to fight off spring colds.
~Nadine~
Mercedes Lackey is good. :-)

Today I am thankful that:
The weather is now consistently warm enough to sit on the back porch in shirt sleeves and shorts, but not yet so warm that the mosquitoes are out.
A former employee still brings his mom's homemade pulled pork tamales to us.
My Zepherine Drouhin is doing really well.
Kwanjin, good shot of the bird!
Debra, thanks for the introduction to your new rose acquisition. A nearly thornless rose that can handle shade might have a place here. (Even if it is pink. lol. You know, I'm beginning to suspect you are in on the "pink conspiracy.") I agree with DW that a rose climbing over our stone arch would look good, but I saw two problems. First, one leg of the arch is in shade and the other leg is in full sun. Secondly, I didn’t want to have to prune another plant with spines or thorns. Zepherine Drouhin is a possible solution. Let me know how it works out for you.
Like my god-daughter (Sansai87), I am thankful today for flu medication and warm soup. (Jim)
