Hello everybody,
I need to find plants that will absorb humidity from my house. It ranges from 60 to 80 percent and it creates all kinds of problems. The house has good light. The main space is around 35 m2 and the bedroom around 20 m2. Any advice would be greatly appreciated since I want to avoid usind a dehumidifier.
Thanks
Looking for indoor plants that absorb humidity
Wow, 80%? You must be in Memphis. =) I would suggest Peace Lily.
I don't think you're going to find that plants will reduce your humidity levels. Plants actually transpire water through their leaves, so if anything I would think they'd increase the humidity slightly. And when you water them, some water is going to evaporate from the wet soil into the air as well. I don't think that growing plants (as long as you're not excessive) is going to hugely increase the humidity in your house, but it's certainly not going to decrease it in any meaningful way. I'd invest in a dehumidifier or an air conditioner (assuming that it's also hot in your house, the A/C may be the way to go since it'll reduce humidity & cool things down at the same time)
