I have a supply of dextrose fluid. ive heard that dextrose fluid is good for giving plants a boost and have seen it advertised in catalogs for plants. is there anyone out there that has tried or has expierience with the dextrose fluids?? and wot was your expierience with it??
dextrose for plant food ?
I don't have any direct knowledge, but since you are basically dumping sugar water on your plants I don't see where it would help. The dextrose molecule is too big to pass into the plant or else the plant would loose it's sap to the ground. I'd think that it would also attract pests like ants and such.
Does anyone else have an opinion or knowledge of this??
My understanding is people sometimes add molasses or sugar to their garden or compost to boost the biological activity, but you do want to watch how much, as the biological activity does consume the nitrogen that's there.
