I believe this a Fig (houseplant). The affected leaves are at the bottom. I water it twice a month as I have always done. It receives plenty of light. I am including 4 photos, please help me figure out what is wrong here. Thanks
Houseplant is sick
You don't mention how long you've had the fiddle leaf fig or the size of the pot. As a general rule, watering requirements can change over time but especially over the seasons. If you have forced air heat, you can expect it to need water, including spray misting.
It's been in the pot since the Fall...the leaves on this fig are much larger than my other plant (same age)...I suspect my cat it urinating on it...I think I may take it outside for a bit today and and flush it with water.
If you think you cat is the culprit, when you are done rinsing it (and I don't know if that would help) and it is finished draining, put the pot in a plastic bag with a twist tie at the base of the stem. I would check with a garden center to see if there is something to abate the cat damage, like lime. I don't know if it is an acid situation. If you don't cover it or do something else to keep the cat out, it is probably doomed.
If it were my plant and I suspected cat damage, I would unpot it and replace the soil with fresh potting soil and put in a fresh pot, possibly larger.
Good idea.
