I got some crocus blooming, they are purple. Always the first to bloom, but my little forsythia I took inside as a cutting is blooming now LOL..
I gave Kaitlyn her spring hair cut. I put flamenco out , even tho it is getting down to 37 tonight, she is on the front porch where she is sheltered by two walls.
Tropical Sunset Brugmansia
Good Morning Everyone
all next week, we are going to have a warm up, I just hope it doesn't turn back cold at the end of the month, 19 days till Spring, hopefully then it will stay warm, I will be bringing some of my big Brugs, up from the basement, to put them on the back porch, I already have the electric fireplace out there
Retta, you should get some crocus, I'll take a photo of mine later today
Charlene, I just knew you would have warm weather sooner than here, How's your GH plants doing?
Debra, I would put some on the front porch, but I would have to bring them back in, we had to set our clocks 1 hour ahead
last night, I love having more daylight time, Yippee
Elizabeth
I use to raise Dobbie's. I just loved them. I had one, when I lived in Texas, that was such a big baby, the neighborhood kids would come by and ask if the dog could come out and play! LOL This was before I had kids of my own.
My iris have been coming up for a while now. Don't have any crocus but the Daffodils are blooming. Butterfly bushes are putting out new leaves.
I am so happy my old fashioned lilac cutting has leav buds! and my snowberry bush survived the winter! and one of the plants Dee sent me ( the weigelia) looks still alive. I will see if the verbiunum made it soon. Gray and supposed to rain, hope it does.
going to work on Taxes today, been putting it off. ugh
I can't wait to see this scene again...
oh debra, that little patch looks great,
do you take cutting and winter over.

you will be surprised at the size of it.

hi Everyone
today is a Beautiful day, even though it is a little bit on the cold side, I had to buy frontline for my cats today, but $44.00 is better than $75.00 for all 3 cats, that's what the vet charged, I went to Lowes to get the frontline, while I was there I noticed
they had rosemary plants, outside, I had to buy one, it was $10.00 but it was in a 3 gal. pot, over the years, I have found
one thing they do not like to be transplanted, so I will keep it in the same pot for awhile
the next cople days I will be bringing my big Brugs up from the basement, have a great day
Elizabeth
Good morning everyone. There was a frost this morning but is supposed to get in the 80s this weekend with lows in the 60s. Today is the average last frost but who knows, we have had frost as late as May. Yesterday I stepped up Brugs from 6-packs to 4" pots. The two week forecast says no frost, so I will be putting lots of flats outside but close to the hoophouse. I have started fertilizing and will be pushing them so I can sell some to a local nursery. I am also going to start sending out trades I started last Fall.
Ken
that's always good to have great weather, our warm up is suppose to start thursday, 16 more days till Spring here
next week I am going to start Bringing my Brugs up from the basement. I have a spot for them in the enclosed back porch
I also have an electric fireplace for heat, I will be looking for Phanomenal, I had that one for 3 years, it started drying out
then dried all the way down to the rootball, it was one of my favorites, now I have to toss it

That is what culebra did.. but the roots are still strong, and the center is solid. Everytime I pull or dump one out, I find a small shoot.. prolly kill them when I do that.
got down to 28 this am, but sposed to soar to 80 tommorrow, I put flamenco back outside, she can handle 39 temps I think.
Debra
Good morning, I haven't thrown it out yet, I'll check it today, it's suppose to be 70 degrees today, but it's cold out right now,
culebra croaked on me a couple years ago, at 39 degrees your flamenco, should do fine, I had some in my little GH last

Guys don't you think it's time to start a new topic...at 130 posts you have drifted so far away from the original "Tropical Sunset" topic it's not funny.
Gary, these threads started by Elizabeth, do not have a topic, more or less what is going on in our daily lives. She always starts them with a picture of her latest bloom, if available. It's good to see you back on Dave's.
it just takes forever to scroll down!!! LOL!! and I'm always interested in what is new and going on....so each day I scroll and scroll
Gary
as you requested, I have a new thread of my seedling crosses, it's good to see you
Ken, Good morning, are you loving your warm weather? it will be 70 degrees here today, 13 more days till Spring
Retta, it won't be long now till you have warm weather
Elizabeth
Good afternoon all. It is soooo nice here! 80* and sunny. But boy is it WINDY! Suppose to be this nice for the next week. Chances of storms too though. Can use the rain but hate our spring time storms.
