Rooting or starting a ZeeZee plant

How do you start a ZeeZee plant from a stalk

Northeast, WA(Zone 5a)

Are you talking about the ornamental corn? Or the one that is kind of like a succulent?

(Zone 1)

think the plant in question is Zamioculcus zamiifolia, commonly called "ZZ Plant". A few years ago I rooted cuttings in jars of water. They were slow but eventually sprouted roots and formed the little bulb at the base.

If you scroll down to the bottom of this page in Plant Files: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/2142/ there is some information about propagating this plant from stem cuttings.

Golden City, MO

A friend gave me a stem she had in water, it developed the bulb at the end.
She stated it was tagged as a Cycas but I could not find it anywhere with Cycas plants.
I kept looking and a few days ago found it.
It was beginning to turn yellow so I put it in dirt.
I have read extensively about it and think it is alright, just need to wash hands
and tools good after working with the plant. So many of our favorite plants are toxic.
She passed away earlier this year so I really want to keep this plant even though it too is toxic.
I am hoping to propagate this one plant to make more of it.

You can do leaf cuttings but they take FOREVER to grow. Google it!
