DAILY BIRD PICS VOL #375

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Lily, when you see them, you will know. RWBB fems are much more striking than most sparrows and bigger.

This is my last one. Not a great pic but made me laugh. I'm pretty sure she's thinking, "you eat like a pig!"

Red-winged Blackbird and snooty White-winged Dove.

Now you need some blue winged something or other (teal or warbler) and you're ready for July 4th!

We've had these two beautiful Common Redpoles at our feeders most of the winter. They seem pretty inseparable - and btw they never get anywhere near the birdbath water as all the others do.

Nice shots all!!

Quote from Mrs_Ed :
Yes, Nanny, Burd is the king of warblers. I don't think he wants to be Queen of Warblers.

Perhaps you can be Queen of Woodpeckers and Duchess of Warblers.

No, Queen of Warbler's doesn't really work for me...lol

More from the backyard. Female Northern Cardinal

I never see the Juncos in a tree, they seem to stay on the ground or get in the grasses our neighbor has in his yard. They don't get on any of my feeders or the suet cakes. But I read from the other people on this page that they see them in trees and on feeders. My red-bellied woodpecker has been hitting the round mixed seed feeder lately, I wonder why. The pure cap laced seeds don't seem to bother the birds but the squirrels have taken to staying on the ground, they get on the tree and on the trellis, but not on the platform at all. The juncos are pretty in their own way, here is a good one.

The Pine Siskins are in large numbers now. I love the sounds they make.
