Can any one tell me how I would prune a crepe myrtle so that it is bushy from the ground up?I want to use it for a privacy "fence". It seems that some of the crepe myrtles are bushy on the bottom and others have a long trunk before the flowers.I'm not sure if it's the pruning or the variety that causes the bushyness. I am looking to get either the Dynamite or Dallus Red variety. I live in middle New York State.
Thank you for any input you may give.
