Thank you.
It's a nice plant. Never knocked down by the rain or wind.
Garden Photo's, combo's, brainstorming NO LIMIT ^_^
It's as tall as a tree! Very pretty plant, & I'm sure the butterflies like it, too.....
The bees really do for some reason. It gets covered with them.
Wow Polly, I would think that would be an eye catcher! I really like it and i've never seen anything like it. You say it like moist feet? Shade or sun?
Full sun to part shade. It's a white Joe Pye Weed. There's two different named ones, Bartered Bride and Joe White. I think Joe White is a little shorter, but whiter, where Bartered Bride is a little creamier colored.
There's also a pink, Carin.
I think they all get to at least 7 feet.
you know Randy loves those tall plants JoAnn & Polly!!!.. this thread is very bad for my wallet!!!
I really love the tall plants. That's why I do so many ornamental grasses.
I think DG photos cost me more than all the catalogues I receive.
I agree... I am not a grass person... all I see is different size weeds.. sorry Polly.. LOL
No need to apologize, a lot of people don't like the ornamental grasses. Just ask Victor, LOL. And you do need the right kind of garden for them. I have a very large garden, and I like them in it, but in a smaller or more formal setting, the large grasses are not something I care for. Plus, they can be very hard to care for, just cutting them down in the spring is a couple of days job.
I know I am in the minority ... and surrounded by grass lovers... hard to convince Randy it wouldn't look good in the garden when he sees one he likes.. LOL
I don't know if you're in the minority. A lot of my customers really hated the grasses.
Do you like the little guys, like the hakonechloas?
have to go look it up... please hold
how funny is this... this is the first link I clicked in my search

and MAYBE I can do some of the more colorful ones... like nicolas
See!
maybe.. LOL
The topagraphy here doesnt support the tall grasses.
I think they look great in gardens with lots of space around them.
Pollys are beautiful
Its snowing again. Not as bad as the coast but spring seems so far off on days like this.
This snow will never melt! I do have some short, nonseeding grasses that I like, I think Blue Urchin is one of them.....
ooohh blueberry ripple!!!
love hak grasses - i have had trouble with nicholas although it may be where it was planted - i will try again this year and get bigger clumps locally.
aureola is nice i have several from a dg coop (i think it is ok to refer to dg coops)
LOL
