Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

He'll just have to deal with it.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Wha, sorry about your unexpected expense. Hate when that happens. But with your drive way you don't need anything puny for sure. We got a new one in 2000 and it is adequate for us in Vt. Kind of cute. My car was totally buried during that storm.

I just did an order with Arrowhead Alpine for Primula and Eryngium and a few other goodies. They have a discount going on, so it made shipping almost a wash. It was my first order with them. I saw some unhappy customers, but those were from a few years back. Plus I saw PollyK was happy with her shipment of iris, so I figure that is a good sign. If anyone knows Iris, it is her. Patti

1 x Primula auricula alpina 'Shalford' = $8.00
1 x Primula auricula alpina 'Greta' = $8.00
1 x Primula auricula 'Parakeet' = $8.00
1 x Primula auricula 'Arundel Stripe' = $8.00
1 x Primula allionii 'Lismore Jewel' = $8.00
1 x Primula sieboldii 'Isotaka' = $8.00
1 x Eryngium venustum = $8.00
1 x Eryngium maritimum = $8.00
1 x Eryngium giganteum 'Miss Willmott's Ghost' = $6.50
1 x Eryngium campastre = $6.50
1 x Eryngium amethystinum = $6.50
1 x Eryngium alpinum 'Blue Star' = $8.00
3 x Iris tectorum Blue = $17.94
1 x Iris mellita Archibald = $8.00
1 x Diervilla sessilifolia' Cool Splash ' = $19.00
1 x Potentilla fruticosa 'Orangeade' = $24.00

NICE!!!!!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

I assume you are talking about the plant selection. Patti

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

nice snowblower!

i almost ordered some conifers from alpine - i saw those watchdog comments and then heard some not good things over on the tree/conifer/shrub forum about the owner - sounds like a character but very gruff if you have a complaint - so i passed - the deal at stanley&sons was too good anyway

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Get your conifers from Bloom River!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

for those on cubits check out the country maid garden and gifts thread - there are some great coops going on from woodthrush - order some hak grass and ligularia yesterday

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

if you are ordering 10 you can get 1 gal's at 1/3 the cost - not all are available in 1 gal though

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Let me know when you hit ten!! ^_^

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i already did plus 15 4" pots

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

What did you get for me?

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

LOL Yes Patti! Love the primula selections.
Yes Bill, if you say so...nice snowblower too. :)

Thomaston, CT

The primulas should love the area by the endless stream, Patti....I'm not familiar with Diervilla....plant? Shrub?

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

I was very happy with the irises, Patti. They all came potted and the ones I ordered are tiny, tiny irises, anyway, but they had tons of new tiny little rhizomes. I guess the owner is a little different. Aren't we all. Thanks for the compliment.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

just got my hand slapped by admin for making known a plant sale on another site that has a lot of old dg'rs on it that begins with a c, that we evidently are not allowed to talk about.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

That's insane, esp since we tell everybody about sales at all different type of companies and stores

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

I guess we are now in Egypt. Patti

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Geeze!! Ridiculous.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

People always got slapped for mentioning other garden sites and at least one person, the crocosmia person, was escorted out of DG.

Links to companies are a totally different thing, Jen.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Especially since no co-ops are done here now. Makes no sense to me either. Shades of the old Gardenweb and Disney.

I would not expect they would allow a link either to any sales on the other site, even though they are legitimate companies having the sales.

I really wish DG would allow us to play nice with the other site. Like I keep saying there's room in this world for both. But since DG is steadily going down in subscribers, to the tune of 15 or so a week, I wish they would rethink.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I do think they would bring in subscribers that didn't originate here... scratch each others back ... guess that's out.... I just don't get it esp since there are quite a few of us members there and here... not like we are going anywhere.. I don't see a threat

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

promoting another gardening website has never been allowed, even when DG was Dave's. It used to be in Terms of Use, probably still is.

The threat is loss of revenue from advertising. If channel A has better programming than channel B, people will watch channel A and that's the channel where the advertisers will drop their money. At 20 bucks a year, I doubt that loss of subscribers is a huge issue, but loss of membership would be.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

If channel B has cuter women, I'm outta here!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

So can I let everyone know about the sale on the garden lingerie site - everything half off??

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Since channel B has no advertising, I wouldn't think that would be a concern?

I understand the not being allowed to promote another website, but there are people that have businesses on channel B, that we should be able to mention their sales. Some of them even have ratings on Garden Watchdog. Why should it be any different to comment about a sale at Flowers Of Fate, for instance, than at Bluestone? Flowers Of Fate is a legitimate licensed nursery, and has all positive ratings at GW. So, just because the business is run on channel B, should we not be allowed to say there's a sale there?

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Go for it, Victor ^_^

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Which half off, Victor?

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Someone other than DG admin might slap your hand. Think wife.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

I think it would be ok to say Flowers of Fate, but not, for example, "available through Garden Web"

It would still be a concern to the channel that has advertising.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

It would be interesting, Louise, to see if they would allow that. for example to say there's a sale going on at Flowers Of Fate, and a link to it.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I would think the 1/2 would be up to the person... everyone has a preference of what they like aired out .. LOL

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Not for me in winter with those extra 10 pounds! And, not in snow!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I hear ya girlfriend!!!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Allison!!!!!
