I'd estimate about the size of Garden Crossing, Victor. They have really nice stuff, but a bit pricey, hence "guilty pleasure"
Patti, you do a stupendous job of inspiring, goading and cheering. Keep up the good work! :)
Crownsville?, never heard of them, I'll have to check them out.
What are You Ordering 2011 #2
Pretty good rateing on Gwatchdog
http://www.crownsvillenursery.com/
Years ago (at least 20) I would order from Crownsville from their old paper, no pictures, catalog. But they got lost in the shuffle once I started looking at plants online. I should do a revisit. I was pleased with their offerings and shipping, but it was a very long time ago. Another reason that I started to order from more northern nurseries was that they are in Va, so their plants aren't as hardy as ones grown closer to the NE. Patti
I used to order from their paper catalog, too! I remember it was gray and it might still be somewhere around here. It would be fun to compare prices then compared to now.
That was exactly it. I think I might have one squirreled away too. That would be fun. I am thinking that the plants were under 3.00 each. Yikes. Patti
Busse Gardens was another one back then and I'm sure I have that one as well - also paper.
I haven't heard of Busse Gardens. How did I miss it. Patti
Worked on Fairweather order. Have it narrowed down to 17. Think I better narrow it a bit more.
just hit send weeze :)
Venu209, Sounds like a nice start. No actually I only ordered 8 things from them. Behaving. Or at least trying. What is one your wish list? Patti
Wha, did you give her your CC info? Nice guy if you did. patti
right :) i need hers and yours for my orders - i've cut down a hosta list to 45 need to drop that by 2/3's or 1/2.
I looked at Crownsville Hostas a few years ago
yes, Bill, your CC info would come in handy :) I've learned to never hit send on the first pass.
Cut down your hosta list to 45??? What was it originally?
sixty something - the coop over on cubits does not list available ones it refers you to the wholesale nursery site and you can pick which ones you want from their whole catalog - there are two sites and i only dared look at one.
Holicow That is generous of the nursery.
Good grief....I ordered one, am thinking about one more. Think I'll drive to Mass. instead!
these hosta's are only liners - the nursery does not sell them - they are through a coop owner.
I picked out about 20 from the co-op Bill. You way over did me. I sent Boojum there last year too.
picked or ordered? i will knock my list down - and folks polly did not assist in keeping my list small as she pointed out some great choices to me :)

what are they made out of Jen.. looks like polymer clay... love them!!!
Picked and ordered. No sense keeping your lists small at those prices. Get them now.
Looks like poly clay to me too.
Yes clay....but don't know the type.
It comes in many titles
I used to work with femo or fimo. Its a synthetic, not dug from the earth.
Very cute, Jen. I ordered Shepherd's Warning last year....it is so tiny, I can just about find it.....may have to replace with something larger.
Would like to try a 'fairy garden' this year! I know my lil nieces will love it!
Planning on ordering the 'subzero' roses this year!! Has anyone tried them??
Rosy Dawn (coleus) ad is now running and expires 1/31/11:

There is one in our church rose garden...a red one.....it does very well with minimal pruning.
Thanks Robin, want something easy to take care of , continual blooming and resistant to many diseases, esp. black spot..also good for zone 5...
Like to research for best plants to buy, sames much frustration.
I hear ya, bought a few roses and they have struggled.....going for this one this year :
Oso Easy™ Cherry Pie
http://www.djroger.com/oso_easy_roses.htm
Nice pick Celeste. I don't have any Oso Easy roses but I've heard they live up to their name. I just placed a Garden Crossing order. Blackberry Punch was the first pick.
Hee hee he, me too i ordered 3 of them and 3 of the black petunia's.
I bought an Oso rose this past fall.....on sale for $3.75 I think.....hope to see it bloom this spring. Another easy care rose is Carefree Celebration....apricot blooms, dark leaves....some burgundy....scented, & super hardy!
