Annuals

Decatur, MS(Zone 7b)

I really like the look of Calla Lilies in a garden, but haven't found a variety that is hardy in my zone (7). Is there anything I can do to successfully overwinter them? Is it possible to dig them up and carry them inside to put in pots when the weather cools down?

I think a lot of members do just that. they might keep them in pots year round to make it easier.

That may be the easiest thing to do.

Here is some info from White Flower farms on overwintering callas

I live in what you would class as zone 4/5 and this winter has been the coldest on record so it is a challenge to try save more tender plants, well tender to us here in UK, I lift my Canna's soon as flowering passes say about October, shake most soil off the tubers I also like to shake the tubers in a bag with powdered Captan or better still powdered Flowers of sulphur, both are bought from the pharmacist, this stops any rot off the tubers in storage, I do this with my Dahlias also, but you have to keep an eye out for rot anyway and cut these bits off, once the tubers have settled into the pots, about 2/3 weeks, thats when I cut the stems and foliage off to about 6 inches above the soil level, store them in a cold greenhouse, if freezing temps come, I put on my heater for several hours at night, they usually start to show new growth round about May-June when I can plant them outside again, over here in UK, Canna's are late flowerers unless started into flower still in the greenhouse, they like a handful of bone-meal added to the planting hole /soil. hope this helps. good luck.
