It looks as if we'll get more snow than predicted. Hope I can get to work tomorrow.

Snow starting sometime tonight and most of tomorrow.
Worse than snow coming...looks like Sunday night i'll be -14, getting out my footy-pajamas for that one!

I lived in MA for 8 months back in 1987, I had NO IDEA what cold weather was. I sure found out in a hurry. I found out that I didn't like it very much!!!
I'm disliking it more and more as I get older! But I could never take your weather in the summer months.
It's not that bad during the summer. Hurricanes can be a drag though...
I'll take my blizzards over your hurricanes any day!
And to lift spirits somewhat...our plants are very happy to have the perpetual snow cover. They're huddled up and warm. Usually Nj has terrible winters for plants. Cold,cold,cold, no snow cover, sweeping sleet, freeze/thaws, heaving, etc, etc, etc. So we should be thanking the snow goddesses that have deemed us worthy of having this excess of cold white stuff covering every inch of land around us. Right?

Another 4-6" predicted for tonight & tomorrow....then very cold....I'm with you, Pixie, in the footed pj department......plus an extra comforter!

Well here we are with more snow. Just checking in, things a little disrupted around here this week. Between the weather and guys here putting in new windows things are a little out of wack. Hope they get done early next week. Don't know if they will show today or not. Snowing pretty heavy at the moment . Only 5-7 inches predicted here, but there is already so much on the ground it will just add to the pile up. Really cold coming in after the storm. Present temp is 26 with a light easterly wind. Should be all over by early afternoon here.

working from home today to avoid the commute i had on Tuesday - snow blower died and i have the repairs parts (i hope) and will tackle that at lunch - 6-8" may fall here.
Glad you didn't have to go in Bill......I'll bet my son did, can't wait to hear how long it took him!
i guy that lives 20 min away told me it took him 2 1/2 hours to get in - crazy - i do not remember bad weather commutes taking this long 15 yrs ago - unless it was a blizzard.
We just had rain with a light coating of snow on top to make it icy.

Yes, coldest weather we've had in 2 years and thats w/out the windchill factored in. Hopefully the homeless shelter will have extra beds....they are going to need them. At any rate, DD & I will take down some blankets and pillows tomorrow as this is what our 7 day forecast looks like:

We got 2-3 inches. Three hour delay for the kids. They're already running out of snow days!
Getting much windier and colder now. Coldest temps of the season coming. Statistically, the end of January is the coldest part of the year. Same with the end of July and heat.
School called off last night. Unusual for our system, but I guess they were thinking of staff & bus difficulties. about 4" here but slick.
snow has stopped - replace belts and friction wheel and still the snowblowe does not want to move - have to bring it to a repair shop - now off to shovel the driveway which will be my exercise for the day.

Snow has stopped, temp up to 20°. The blacksmith didn't come today to trim Alice's feet, too cold. I don't blame him.

We will be cold, too, but not as cold as Maine! Temps will be negative for the next few nights.....am babysitting at the farm tomorrow....they better have a fire going!
Getting nasty in WNY now also. Colder at 16 degrees, high winds (25-30 mph) and snow. Lots of schools, churches and other organizations have canceled evening activities. Gotta watch for bingo closings. When that happens we know the weather is really bad. LOL
