It stayed in the 20s, really cold! Snow showers are predicted for tues. & we really don't need them. DH chapped icy snow off the walk to the driveway which should mean less chance of falling. I sort of slid my feet along today & used a cane for balance.

ooops, put my current conditions on the old thread. It's turning nice here now....high 60s today and tomorrow. We're having our front porch and carport painted tomorrow, so I'm glad it will be warm enough to paint. They did the power washing and prep today.

Funny thing happened in my town for the last snowfall. The prior blizzard caused havoc because 10% of the MUA workers "called out" and the roads were a mess. So this time they were out in force.....I lost a night's sleep listening to the plows ALL NIGHT LONG. They had the front end loaders doing the work that should have been done during the first storm when it really did snow. I live on a major thoroughfare so they did a spectacular job of plowing the corner of my property(this time). If one is driving down the road, my house cannot be seen because the snow is piled so high, so very high. What is under that snow??.........A JM, vib, weigela, ninebark etc. All my great autumn bargain plants under 10 feet of snow. All I can say is that at least they were cheap. To quote Thom, "krapola"

Still below Zero out now up here in Williamsville, Vt, but bright and sunny. Crunchy out. DH went skiing. Nuts. I did venture out, but the dogs didn't even care to go out for a second morning walk. Cold. Patti

Going up to 33° here today with a windchill of 28°, turning mostly cloudy. Winds expected to increase this evening shifting from SW to NW overnight. Possibility of snow showers later tonight. Tonight's low expected at 28° with a windchill of 17.

32 and currently not snowing. The lake effect snow machine is off for now. Taking DD back to college today, her roomie is on her first plane of the day. She's coming in from CA.

I've had the same problem, Weeze. That's why I now only put less desirable plants near the street. Sounds like your guys took their cue from NYC.

Venu209, I too hope your newly planted fall babies love their snow blanket. Annoying for them to do that to your corner, but they do the same up here in Vt. Dump and run.

yes after feeling that it will be done on a certain date, it is worrisome to have to reset.

I posted on the old thread, also.....Around zero last night, up to 30 today.....the oil truck took out a snowbank in the drive, & deposited into the drive....more shoveling! My neighbor was out also, & we both agreed that winter has lost its charm!

Nice to see Wha up and out so he must be feeling better, though he was a bit confused about where to post....head cold still?

Glad you both got found. It would be bad to be lost in a blizzard. We got more snow up in Vt this afternoon. DH had a great day skiing at Stratton Mt dispute the crowds. Patti

I thought it was kind of mild out, I managed to shovel the driveway down to the blacktop

Snowing here since about 6.....just a dusting I hope, currently @ 18 degrees.

A balmy 37° here w/ snow flurries, wind at 14 mph.

Sounds pretty, Celeste and WC! Never mind about our weather here....I don't have the heart to mention the temps. lol

Would it be rubbing it in if I said it was about 70 here today and it's supposed to be nicer tomorrow...lol...

I've got fake knees and they get cold enough down here. I couldn't imagine what it'd be like up north. I see the pictures of all the snow and can only shake my head.

It will be another few weeks according to the FA LongRange forcast.

This is the other side of that same greenhouse as I'm getting ready for spring planting....I have installed these kitchen equiment stainless steel shelves for potting up small stuff.

We have coal heat in our garage and have added a door to the garage so it heats from that.....it stays about 50* above ground and the ground temp is about 40* or a bit more. This is a Harbor Freight 6' x 8' greenhouse that we have wrapped with the bubble wrap (small stuff...cause that's what I had) inside.

Waiting to see what that dang groundhog has to say about winter......hope he says springs around the corner!

Longrange forcasts heaviest snow from early Dec to Feb. Colder temps than normal for that period also. They are spot on.
This summer will be normal for temps. and drier.
This is for Farmers Almanac region 6.
