This horrible winter continues. Reminds me more and more of '95-'96.

Here's to warm thoughts!!

.. looks like a resort where I took a nap once in Belize!

29° here and we have light snow, driveway cleared for tomorrow am. ☺

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Its 9* that pic looks inviting

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

It's a balmy 23 here and that picture sure does look inviting!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

very tough sun on the drive in today - only going up to 31

Amherst, NY(Zone 6a)

Currently 12 degrees with light snow in WNY. Looks like snowy weather for the next week or two. Why am I not surprised??

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

25 and windy. This snow will be here until March. At least it's insulating the plants!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

suns out here

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

still only 9,
didn't feel too bad on my walk til I rounded the bend and got hit with the wind

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

25° here, wind from the NW at 21 mph, humidity down to 55%, we have sunny, clear skies overhead and our windchill is 7°.
Becoming partly cloudy & remaining breezy today, our high temp is expected at 31°, but the windchill will be in the mid-teens. Tonight's low around 12°.
- Icy roads in the am.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

24° here wind chill 12°

Thomaston, CT

21 here, very windy, the stupid snow is drifting into my front walk, the plow pushed another 6" into my drive......help!

South Hamilton, MA

Our total for yesterday was between 17 & 20" depending which part of the yard was measured. Driveway plow came in the afternoon & it was the assistant who had a smaller truck so front plowed instead of dragging backwards. Gravel flew. DH has been digging out the car this morning. Birch trees on the north side of the driveway are bent over to the south side. I looked out the back bay window & thought: ' I don't remember a big shrub out there'. It is the poor carnelian cherry with the weight of the snow bending it down. We lost power from 2:10 pm to 6:35 pm. We do have a fireplace. Older people died in pre-colonial winters. This 'wuss' thing is overdone.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

the snow has stopped for now, but callinf for lake effect snow over the weekend. DD goes back to school then, hope to get her there ok and that her roomie's plane can get here too. Rommie lives in CA.

Thomaston, CT

Oh, aren't you lucky to have a greenhouse! That is exactly what I need right now!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Victor, love that snow removal You-tube.

Hallchinalady, Nice set up.

Nice day up in Vt. Took the dogs on a long walk. Brook is still flowing. DH went skiing. Sun and about 22 here, but much colder on the mountain. Patti

South Hamilton, MA

Luckily the remover fell in soft snow. We know of someone who was killed falling off his roof.

Thomaston, CT

Tonight a small plane from New Bedford crashed in Cheshire, but because of the deep snow, father & son walked away without a scratch.....

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Oh my goodness, how lucky!

Thomaston, CT

Yes, the snow was good!

South Hamilton, MA

We used to live in Cheshire. It wasn't that exciting when we were there.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Hee hee he!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

wow

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Couldn't sleep. We got between 15 and 20 inches. Took me three trips to shovel to the feeders. Top was fluffy but bottom 6-8 inches was heavy wet packed snow. Power outages all around me but we lucked out and escaped this time. Sun was out yesterday but cold and blustery, the same today if the forecast is correct. Currently it is low teens for a temp and a light NW wind.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

18° here, wind from the North at 3 mph, humidity up to 65%, and we have cloudy skies with a windchill of 7°.

- Turning partly cloudy later today, high expected at 24°, but the windchill will keep it feeling about 16°. Going down to 10° tonight.

Same snow later as Pat's above except that the bottom 2" are ice. Side-streets still remain unsalted, most still covered with snow up to about 8", slippery & icy conditions. Big snow mounds make it difficult to see,
- main roads are fine.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

15 and gray. Ugly.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

It's 9 °F here and mostly sunny, thank goodness or it would seem colder.

Thomaston, CT

It's only 12, pretty cloudy......just a cold, miserable Jan. day....going out to lunch, & grocery shopping...very exciting......

Amherst, NY(Zone 6a)

There is a strange bright glow in the sky here in WNY. Oh--it's the sun!! Bright sunny skies and 16 degrees.

Have a blessed and fantastic Friday, folks! :)

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

10 degrees up here in Williamsville Vt, but DH went skiing anyway, cold but no wind to speak of. Patti

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

like that he still went out! i would have.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

He is nuts for playing cold sports like hockey and skiing. I keep thinking he might take up ice fishing. I am sitting up here in beautiful Vt by a window looking up plants, but I can see the huge pile of snow outside....does that count? Patti

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i think he will want some hot soup when he gets back.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Wha, He won't be back until dinner. He will stay for the last run or later if he can. And no soup tonight, as he has the car and I have nothing for me to make soup out today. I am miles from the local year-round farmstand and sadly the general store here closed a couple of years ago. We do have a nice roast to cook for dinner, but I don't want to use it for soup. We have a freezer full of great soups made from our garden this fall, but in Nantucket. No help today. I'll have a hot cup of tea with honey awaiting him tonight. Patti

South Hamilton, MA

17° & cloudy so no snow melt today. Smaller trees including the birches are still bent over.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

30° and it's trying to snow again.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Sunny and 29...not bad if you stay in...
