Clemen - you are not kidding about the storms! Here is a shot my son sent me from the latest 20 inches he got today. This is the entrance to his dog's back yard area from the garage/carport area. He had to snow blow a path through this for his dog.

Well hubby liked the soup, so I guess that's what really matters

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Yikes..Bonnie, we are in the same boat...tOO MUCH WHITE STUFF, GRRRRR...

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

...need more white stuff here.

Fish & Fries tonight. Waking up at 4:30am to start shoveling snow threw me off and I lost a day, thought it was Friday today! lol!!

Plympton, MA(Zone 6a)

Mmmm, meatballs simmered all day in my mother-in-law's famous sauce (aka Ragu traditional with a few things added - it is actually pretty good, lol), spinach & beef ravioli and sourdough bread.

I could eat Italian food every day...

Thomaston, CT

Oh, I could, too......a friend and I, both suffering from cabin fever, are heading out to lunch today......I'll give her some of the pea soup I made yesterday......I used pepper ham & it's a tad spicy......

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I LOVE Italian food but the tomato sauce does not love me

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

My face as well, but only homemade sauce.

Amherst, NY(Zone 6a)

Looks like dinner tonight will be sauteed tilapia fish fillets and noodles with cottage cheese mixed in. My mother used to do that with noodles and I do it occasionally. Saute chopped onions in butter, add the cooked noodles and stir in the cottage cheese. Sort of like an Alfredo.

Must be a Slavic thing, flowAjen. Definitely a comfort food for me.

Thomaston, CT

Ended up at the Chinese buffet.....

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Love the idea of the cottage cheese mixed in...lower in fat..great tip guys...I am not slovic, but I am ALL about low low fat.

Pork chops on the grill, homemade apple sauce....just microwaved the apples, no FAT in them....salad with sun dried tomatoes..hearts of palm....and spaguetti squash..

Enjoy your time off, Clemen! Your supper sounds yummy and healthy! A lovely Thai gentleman in Hank's golf league took us out to lunch at a "real" Chinese restaurant where he is friends with the owner. They had two menus - one for American guests and one for Chinese guests. He ordered from the Chinese menu - a lot of different appetizers of all types and then a really good entree. I have no idea what all I ate.....some squid and eggplant and lots of other things, but everything was good. I drew the line at chicken feet. :) He also brought along a special bottle of something that was a Chinese alcoholic drink that you honor special friends with before a meal. It was sort of like a brandy and you could only sip a little bit. It was a lovely outing....He also took us to his gorgeous home on the water and I was really drooling. There was an Asian grapefruit tree in his yard with the largest grapefruit I have ever seen. He is now almost 80, but was an architect in Denver & Pittsburgh before moving here. Interesting day and no need for supper!

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

AHhhhh I can appreciate it that...we have good chinese friends here too and they treat us to different things too...that liquor...wowhoooooo....strong.......Love squid, specially the salted one!!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

We have one of those Chinese restaurants about 45mins north of here. The best Chinese food I've had in NJ

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Must have at least 6 Chinese restaurants here within ½ mile from me, I only like one.. the smallest and the cheapest one that makes the best food! lol

- Red Snapper w/ fries & watercress for me, leftover pot roast for DW with old style Italian bread. (the one that has a slightly burned bottom to add to the taste..)

Freshly baked Sfogliatelles dusted with powdered sugar for dessert. ☺

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

You know guys chinese people do not like american chinese restaurants...and that is what we get here all over....

Nice on the snapper, how did you make it water can?

Love fish, could live on it every single day!

Nite all....

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

We have the real Chinese here, including the good luck temple in the store with oranges and everything..

Fish is great, easy to digest and healthy. Picked up a nice whole fish along with some flounder fillets for mid week from 'Uncle Giuseppe's'
- I like the taste of fresh fish so I just did a basic salt, pepper & oregano, no coating, scored the skin a bit and just fried it! ☺

When I lived in Fla I used to go fresh water fishing every now and then. I caught a fish and put it in the frying pan. I was warned by the locals to fillet the fish off hte skin, but since I like the taste of fish I decided not to...
- Well about 5 min into the frying the fish exploded and went all over the kitchen! - The skin shrinked like a spring and blew up the fish!

(another reason why I like salt water fish better! lol!)

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Wendy's, ugh and I'm still stuffed and I didn't even have any fries I had a baked potato... not doing that again for a LONG while

Thomaston, CT

Louise, you're braver than I am.....I would have stayed with all veggies! WC, funny story about the fish exploding....I'll have to tell my stepson who was a commercial fisherman & lobsterman his whole life. My DIL made minestrone with meatballs, that was my meal for today.....

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Yikes Water can....a big mess in the kitchen I assume from the oil and all..

I agree, skin on the fish is delicious..

I was so hungry for fish..went to the water front around here and was about to get fish but could not pass up the snow CRAB leggs, so that is dinner tonite. Making some baked potatoes. oops... opps, sorry miss flowajen, lol, I hope you are feeling better now from the Wendy's experience...HONEST!!!

Guys I have been absent from the NE that I forget names so bear wtih me PLEASE PLEASE>..

ALl have a nice dinner, I am preparing my feast as I write....

RObindog, one meal a day??? come on...you gotta eat a little more, but sounds great...

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Yum now I wish I would have had fish! Maybe tomorow...
Left over penne pasta with meat sauce and salad, a few butter cookies for dessert. Lazy day for me.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

I love fish!
I eat fish, go fishing for fish, keep fish in a tank, swim with fish, ... everything fishy! Wheee!

- Tonight is pizza night though, ½ cheese, ½ pepperoni, (made by authentic Italians) ☺

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

YUm yum..fish fish....Crab leggs..yumm yumm...

nite guys...

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Funny story, WC! I am not wild about fish....will eat it just because it's good for me, but the only fish I ever really liked was pompano, my Dad's favorite too. I definitely am not a fan of the skin. Gross!

Meatball minestrone sounds pretty good to me, Marilyn! Need a few tums, Jen?

Clemen - hope you enjoyed your crab legs!!

Tonight was pork sirloin cutlet, salad and green beans. Mine are forming little beans now and I am EXCITED! YAY! FRESH BEANS SOON!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

True story Louise! ... unfortunately! lol!

Fresh Green Beans! Never tasted them, must be WAY tastier than store bought! ☺

Thomaston, CT

Oh, they are! Plant several rows several times during the season....Louise is lucky, she gets winter beans! Clemen, I wish I could limit myself to one meal a day.....I meant that was my big meal....had a sandwich for dinner, & a pomegranate for dessert....

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Well YUm YUM YUMMM on all of your meals today..

So I need your names..can you please post for me for the next few days so I can greet you by YOUR real names, not our knick names, lol..you guys know mine already,,,grrr....no guessing here...I AM HERE TO STAY AND PARK...lol...
