Absolutely love the Roadrunner! Nice to see the Trumpeter Swans too!
Daily Bird Pics Vol. 370
I only get a very fleeting glimpse of the Townsend's Warbler about once a year. Visited family the other day, and right outside the window I spotted one on the ground. It was kind enough to stay while I went back to the car to get the camera. These were taken through the window, which gave the weird green cast to everything.
Nice ones tiger!
This is what it has been doing most of the day, hard then it would slow down some, then hard again. I have swept the sidewalk at least 3 times now, I was hoping that we would not get any more but that was in vain. So here is a picture to make all you people in CA shiver and thank goodness you don't live here!
I am envious of some of your birds tigerlily, that one is beautiful! It finally stopped snowing, we got maybe a half a inch, just enough to make the streets really slippery. We went out for awhile and my hubby turned a corner and almost went into the neighbors yard! The Chickadees came back and I bet the Titmice come back too. I got a photo of a bird coming for a landing, you can see his little legs real good, I am not sure what kind of bird it is. I will post it maybe Hackster can clean it up enough to help out.
Burd beautiful shot of the Hawk and Eagle.
Cute little Roadrunner, Red.
Great catch on the Townsend's Warbler, don't know if they ever come my way in summer, I will have to check that.
Teddy, glad you didn't get too much snow, it's certainly not very pleasant to shovel or drive in. We're expecting a winter storm for the weekend. I figure, there will be a lot of activities tomorrow, at the feeders.
This is some of the ones that will be present.
Sorry for cutting in Red. The Wood Duck is a beauty, it has some really nice color. Great shot.
burn, Thats a sweet shot of the Redpoll!
Red, Those are such nice pics of the different ducks! I especially like the Hooded Merganser.
Hello, I was wondering if anyone here has red pileated woodpeckers come to their feeders. I purchased one with the long tail board. Should I mount it on a tree? Only the smaller woodpeckers have been using it.
Thanks,
Teresa
I am looking at a new camera. A Canon Sx30. I think the zoom would help me take better bird pics. Anyone have those?

Hi bluegrassmom! (nanny) on this forum gets regular visits from Pileated Woodpeckers...check out http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1146178/ which has a list of some of the cameras used by members.
Wonderful shots everyone!!
Lily, Nice shot of the Red-headed Woodpecker!
Beautiful waterfowls Red.
Teddy, at least the House Sparrows are enjoying your food.
Hack, great shots of your birds. Love that warbler, chickadee and that wren is adorable.
Nanny, your birdbath seems to continue to be popular too!
Burn, love all your birds. That wp looks so cute trying to decide what to eat.
Burd, great shots of the raptors and the wp!!
Red, glad the swans have returned. It's awesome when we all keep tract of when our birds return to our areas-yours were just a little late. I love that Roadrunner-wow! Great shot of the Merganser and Woodies too!!
Tiger, nice job with your pretty warbler.
Teddy, we just have nights below 30's. Guess I'll be happy for that.
Lily, love that look you're getting through the window-lol!
Here's a Ruby-crowned Kinglet I found at our state park yesterday.
I finally did it! I am so excited, I finally got a couple of good pictures with my camera of this fellow, I enhanced it with Irfanview and I will admit I am very proud of myself, I have been trying to get a photo of him for about 6 months, and this afternoon he just showed up on the ledge, he actually just sat there as if saying here I am.
Congratulations Teddy, he sure is a beauty.
Here is the Downy Woodpecker again, he is a regular visitor to our suet cake. My camera does not zoom like my hubby's, but I did a good job. I still want to get a photo of the red-breasted woodpecker, but he is really elusive. I hardly ever see him around the neighborhood, and when I do, he is where I can't get a good picture.
Also found this Chestnut-backed Chickadee. Unfortunately all my photos were taken in a thick fog-maybe the new Photoshop Elements will help once I figure out how to use it.
Brightened and bumped up the saturation a bit:
Resin
I tried to enhance it with Irfanview, but sometimes it does not work too good on some pictures, this was one of them, so I just thought I would leave it like it was, gee he is pretty against that snow that continues to fall!
