I live in mid-Texas, & got some tulips for christmas. They have started to sprout already, just little pointed sprouts. Is it o.k. to plant them outside? Will the cold kill them since they have started to sprout? Help
Tulips
Do you know if the bulbs were pre-chilled? If they weren't then you'd need to do that before you plant them. Tulips need a certain amount of winter chill to bloom and in your zone you won't have enough cold weather so you've got to chill them yourself (or buy them from somewhere that sells pre-chilled bulbs)
I'm sure they were prechilled because the bag says to plant within 6 months.
Plant them and enjoy the beauty.
