Excellent shots of the Hooded Mergansers and their chicks Al! The one yawning is so cute.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Nanny, you sure picked a beauty to start this new thread-thanks. Great photos of all your birds, but that pileated is really a looker.

Lily, super shot of the lord! Congratulations on the Pine Warbler-it's a beauty.

Granny, wonderful photos, but that first one with the two wps and the starling is my favorite!!

GP, I'm jealous again! That male bunting is so beautiful!! Glad you're seeing an oriole.

Burn, love the wp and that beautiful Redpoll.

Burd, great photos. Love the wp and that starling.

Missey, great photo of your wp too!

Met, beautiful photos of the merganser family-wow! That last show-off is "priceless".

A good distance away, but this is the only Northern Flicker I could find on our snow day.

I quit counting how many House Finches I'm feeding, but there's a bunch.

This Dark-eyed Junco seemed to wonder what the snow was all about-I don't blame him, we rarely see the white stuff.

This little junco looked cute with the snow flake on the head.

A few of our Cedar Waxwings.

The snow didn't stop the Red-breasted Nuthatches from grabbing some peanuts.

Wonderful pics duc!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Fantastic pics. Duc, every single one of them. The C.W. is like a poster-worthy. Than again, 90% of your photos are poster-worthy.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Wow...too many outstanding shots here to comment on but Meth, those chicks are adorable!!

I had to take down the suet feeder the pileated really liked using out on the maple tree due to the squirrels cleaning it out almost everyday. So not sure how often I will see them now. The female was by a couple times this weekend.

Lakeview, OH

Have never seen squirrels on our suet feeder, here is one of the sparrows, maybe someone can tell me exactly what kind of sparrows they are.

Hi Teddy, Those are House Sparrows a non native bird.

Lakeview, OH

Thanks pelletory, I went to the web page and found out quite a lot of info on our little feathered friends. The funny thing about them, when the snow was on the ground, the only ones I saw was the Chickadees, Tufted Titmice, Nuthatches. But since the snow is gone, the only ones I see is the Nuthatches and Sparrows. But we are supposed to get some more snow this week, they are not sure about the amount, I will know when I look out the door, you know how that is.

It has been a pleasant sunny day, though still cool out. Look who has came by to visit!

gardenpom - I'm jealous of your Painted and Indigo Buntings. Is that White Millet in your feeders. I hear they like those seeds. If so, I gonna buy some.

Lily_love - You're welcome, I see Pine Warblers frequently. AND I haven't seen any Mourning Doves for a while, humm, wonder where they've gone? AND I wouldn't mind having a visitor like the one on you last post.

burn_2007 - Nice pic a a handsome male Hairy WP. You T1i is doing good. I haven't taken the 400mm off the 40D to use it on my "new" T1i, yet. I've been using mine for Macro so far.

Burd_Fotos - very nice pix of the Downy's. BTW, I figured out to set the 580 flash to HSS and that allows me to use high shutter speeds with the flash firing. I'm gonna upload some pix of birds in the shadows that the 580 flash really brought out. Now, I've got to buy some re-chargeable batteries for it.

thebestmissy - that's one of the best Brown Creeper shots I've seen. Most of the others look straight on at it and it blends in so well, I have a hard to "seeing" it.

Methodical - that pic of the family settling in for the evening, the litttle one yawning, is just great - brought a smile to me.

ducbucln - Lily is so right, your pix are super. I esp. liked all those HOFIN's

teddy_8905 - send me your address and I'll send all my House Sparrows to you. While are pretty, they are also "thugs".

I can't believe how many different birds I saw in a short spell today.

Here's a couple of Brown-headed Cowbirds, female and male - haven't seen them in a long time.

Something moved way up in the tree above me and I snapped this short of a Brown-headed Nuthatch.

This female Cardinal was in real heavy shade, but the 580 flash lite her up.

I have lots of Chipping Sparrows.

Little Dees were flitting all around and this one sat just long enough.

The 580 flash fired as I snapped this female Downy (or maybe Hairy) Wp. What do you all think it is. I'm leaning toward Hairy (can't see any black spots on the tail feathers), but around here I've been seeing more Downy's.

I have plenty of Goldfinches.

Some Pine Warblers showed up.

Here's a Ruby-crowned Kinglet feeding on the ground beneath one of the suet feeders. Still can't see the ruby crown, though.

The Titmice were as aggravating as the Chickadees. But I did get one. Pretty nice one, too,

My last one is a regular - A Carolina Wren.

Wonderful pictures. I enjoyed all of them. Duc, some of those shots are worthy of framing. Lily Love, that squirrel beats all! Hack, great shots. Wish I would see a Ruby crowned kinglet here.

Lakeview, OH

I have a better idea, give me your address and we will send OURS to you, I won't be taking pics for awhile, I have caught something, don't know whether it is a cold or flu, but be careful, it is going around. It starts out you can't stop shivering, high temperature, and then you get hot. You also get dizzy too, so everyone be careful.

Marlton, NJ

Feel better soon Teddy!

Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

Hope you recover soon teddy. I got me a Flu shot recently. First one I've had since I was a college, back in the early 70's. That one made me "sickern-a-dog" and I never got one again - until a week ago. I was 20 then, I'm 60 now, figured it would be for the best.

Nice shots everyone!! Hack, glad you got the 580 going...bring your ISO down to 400 and try that and don't forget that beamer. ;)
Duc, thought you moved away from snow?...lol Great shots!

Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

400, got it, I'll give it a try. The beamer is on the way.

Sounds like the flu...yes somethings going around..take care!

Mount Pleasant Mills, PA(Zone 5a)

Hope you are feeling better today Teddy.

Here is a Chickadee from yesterday. Enjoying seeds at the broken, awful looking feeder. I guess I will have to replace it with the same kind if I can locate one. They really love it.
