Sports Talk!! Part 6

South Hamilton, MA

It was reported as a tear. Victor have you seen a report of the MRI? However he is rather erratic in his performance in the past. I would dump QB#2 & bring along #3.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No, I haven't received my copy yet, Lucy. ^_^

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Just checked ESPN. Still calling it sprained.

South Hamilton, MA

It may be a minor tear, however an injury reduces his effectiveness.

My mechanic's son, who was ranked 27th in the country last year for HS seniors in baseball, now goes to the Univ of Richmond. He's been drafted by the Brewers. He is like Randy Johnson - 6'5" skinny left-hander. He is very unhappy with hos coach who is using him out of the pen. He's not made for that. He needs a long time to warm up and days to recover, no matter how much he pitches. Hopefully, this coach will come to his senses and make him a starter.

South Hamilton, MA

I hope that he stays in school first. Also things may change as he gets older.

Thomaston, CT

Pitching is very tough......so many injuries....that being said, hope the Mets staff is ready to go! Saw Uconn lose by 1 point in OT :(

Here's an article about the kid from this past summer.

http://ncnlocal.com/ncnlocal_sports/sports_articles/article_b374c3f8-abb1-11df-b98c-001cc4c03286.html

Thomaston, CT

He made a good decision....sounds like a great kid!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I say go play while you're young then go to school IF you get injured.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

This kid is a student first. He turned down a full scholarship to a much stronger baseball program because this school is stronger academically. It's hard to make it into Regis HS in the city. Very hard. The problem now, after this article was written, is that there was a coaching change. They guy who recruited took a pro position and this new guy does not seem to care about the kid's arm or future.

South Hamilton, MA

Transfer next yr if possible, He will have to sit out a yr but can work out & spend the time on his studies.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Superbowl today.....who's going to win? Anybody got guess's?? I'm am not a sports fan, if I can't play ....im out! I've always been this way....except for the olympics, I will watch that. The only time I ever enjoyed watching football was when Walter Peyton had the ball. ^_^ That boy could run!!!!! However, Superbowl Sunday is the exception, won't sit and watch the full game but do keep an eye on the score. Don't know who im fooling, most of my time is in the kitchen anyways!! LOL
I usually jump in on the betting with the boys and will take a guess and spend a few dollars in hopes my 6th sense will kick in and let me pick a winner. This year my pick is for the Steelers, not any specific reason....just a feeling.
SOOOOO, who is your pick?

Thomaston, CT

I'm hoping for the Packers, don't much care for Pitt's QB! This time of year, I'm more into college basketball, & dreaming that the Mets will somehow win a few more games.....

South Hamilton, MA

After 67 years of being a Packer fan, guess who I want to win!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

big ben should be behind bars - go pack

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

So we have 3 rootting for the Packers, will be an interesting game from listening to the boys...mixed picks here.

Rooting for the Packers (despite those silly cheeseheads), but have a feeling the Steelers will win.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I would normally root for The Steeler's but since they beat the Jets, guess I'm going with the Packer's...going to watch it at our Pastor's house

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Watch your language!! Hee hee.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

We don't curse so that won't be a problem

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - some ticket holders will not get in!! Will get triple refund. Nice job, Dallas!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Almost worth it not to get in!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I know!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Solid half fir the Pack, but long way to go. Injuries to secondary could be a killer.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Good game so far!

Thomaston, CT

I'm enjoying what I've seen....keep switching to other channels, but not a whole lot on tonight.....

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Go Pack!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Good game now. Think Pitt will win.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Good game, lousy half time show

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, weird, but love Fergie. ^_^

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

GB finally caught a few!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Great game.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Congrats, Packers! Good game.

South Hamilton, MA

As an owner as well as a fan, I am thrilled with the Packer's win. I am especially happy for Donald Driver. An injury forced him from the game but it did catch a Superbowl pass. I am also glad the Charles Woodson didn't lose out.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Cograts to all you Packer fans! It was a good game!!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

glad to see the steelers lose - happy for the packers

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

The commercials were the worst in years. Really lame. And the weird, Jetsons-like halftime show was a horror.

Thomaston, CT

Missed all that.....did see some of the game, but had to go to bed because I felt so awful.....

South Hamilton, MA

I liked the commercial with the bugs. (VW). I do wish the Packer recievers would get a little glue on their fingers. Can't catch them all, but really!!!
